Skowhegan /skaʊˈhiːɡən/ is the county seat of Somerset County, Maine, United States. Skowhegan was originally inhabited by the indigenous Abenaki people who named the area Skowhegan, meaning "watching place [for fish]." The native population was massacred or driven from the area during the 4th Anglo-Abenaki War. As of the 2010 census, the town population was 8,589. Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture is an internationally known residency program for artists, though it is technically located in neighboring East Madison. Every August, Skowhegan hosts the annual Skowhegan State Fair, the oldest continuous state fair in the United States.

We were camping nearby and decided to visit when I found dogs were welcome. We brought our own chairs but they do have some available. There was entertainment which we didn't expect and good pizza which we knew about. It was a good time for...MoreThanks Deanna. Glad you stopped out.

We've been visiting Coburn Park for years, since I was a little girl. I, in turn, have taken my children, and now my grandchildren to the park for picnics, relaxing, play, biking, and walking. The park is simple, but lovely, and well-kept. During the summer, there is a concert series for 4-5 weeks. Very nice park.

10 productions in the Summer. Each production is 2 weeks. Dinner across the way is excellent, and reservations are a must. The theater itself is "tired" and I hope the beautiful building will be kept up. Acting is by local adults, students, and semi-professional actors. A B&B nearby is nice, as is a small beach.

Easy to find location. Well worth the effort to get there. I am a lager fan and was not disappointed. The only ones I didn't taste were the hoppier styles, they just aren't my thing. This place is a hidden gem! Customer service was outstanding and the beer was cold. We'll be back.

What a quaint lil town, anything from antique shopping to great homemade ice cream. Stop in and visit the wooden Indian statute, part of the history to this town. Also if you are in the area in amidst August be sure and go the fair, there is no other, and horse racing is a MUST,always at least place a wager on one of the Mosher boys.

Massage therapy to relax and restore your body to a more comfortable way. Swedish, deep tissue or Ashiatsu is just a couple of modalities that I offer. Want to spend longer amount of time and learn how to massage for you spouse or significant other.. make sure you bring them along for a couples massage class.
I don't go to see Laura for a "relaxing" massage. I go to have serious work done and she has help a lot with that. She listens to what you prefer. We have tried new things and some I liked and some I did not. She is very accommodating in working to treat your particular issues.
