Chora huddles at the feet of the magnifiscent Monastary of Saint John. Steep streets, narrow alleyways, quaint shops with everything from the ordinary tourists knick-knack to beautiful artisan work. There are very nice restaurants to be found, too, typically with the very simple and extremely tasty traditional Greek cuisine. The undisputed highlight of Chora must be the above mentioned Monastery, but there are so many surprising sights and views in this very old town.

Tourlou is food wich contains almost every material that you can find in your fridge. So our litlle jewellery shop is based on this idea. We (try to) blend materials, sounds, techniques, ideas and colours to puzzle our pieces.Inspired by the envirnoment of islet of Patmos -where we live- our quote is : Cache your dreams to make them happen.
Forget the usual souvenir shop selling the same items of other hundred shops! Here you find only unique objects: earrings, broches, necklaces, rings are a joy to admire. Simple materials are exploited in fantastic ways to create small joys. We fell in love with colourful fishes made with painted paper and hanging from the roof with big eyes: impossible to resist, we got four of them. A regret? Yes, to not have bought the gorgeous, majestic octopus displaced in the window: he will make happy another customer!

Massive stone monastery completed in the 11th century in honor of St. John the apostle.
It was founded in 1088 when the emperor in Constantinople gave the island of Patmos to a monk for the monastery. It is an amazing place overlooking the island. The old church has many interesting frescos and the museum has many treasures given to the monastery over its many years. My favorite was the purple codex, leaves of a 6th century gospel of Mark in Greek. My one disappointment was that the large library with many manuscripts was not open to the public. We took the bus from Skala and returned by bus after walking through Chora and to the windmills. A great morning.

Spectacular church and view, to visit this monestery, we must put a shirt on, and I must cover my shoulders; very quite and serene atmosphere; extraordinaire flora around, I saw a beautiful exotic flower; nice visit.

This is the one Greek island that stunned me. I grew up with the Bible, and I am familiar with The Book of Revelation. A desk generally is a desk, but this one had amazing history with it. Don't miss it.

Old fashioned service with a smile. Hired a ATV from Moto Leo and it could not have been simpler and good value for money. A great way to see the island. The shop is a couple of minutes walk from the port up the road that leads to the fort.

A beautiful monastery built near the cave where St. John the apostle wrote the Book of Revelations.
Some pretty significant history here. The place is well kept and a nice stop if you are on the island.

I visited Patmos with 2 other friends to experience the amazing island where St. John received the Revelation of of Jesus Christ. Just a few hundred yards from the ferry landing is Faros Scooter Rental, and believe me, scooters are THE BEST way to see this incredible island! The roads are very smooth and well-maintained, and there are breathtaking views at nearly every turn. Faros Rental was one of our first stops, and for an incredibly reasonable price, we had our own reliable transportation for the three days we stayed on the island. What an experience! I can't wait to get back with my wife, and when we come, the first place we'll be stopping is the smiling, helpful, and hospitable people at Faros! Thanks for making our experience on Patmos so memorable!
