Sittingbourne is an industrial town situated in the Swale district of Kent in south east England, 17 miles (27 km) from Canterbury and 45 miles (72 km) from London. The town sits beside the Roman Watling Street, an ancient British trackway used by the Romans and the Anglo-Saxons and next to the Swale, a strip of sea separating mainland Kent from the Isle of Sheppey. The town became prominent after the death of Thomas Becket in 1170, since it provided a convenient resting point on the road from London to Canterbury and Dover.

Speedway Racing – Mondays at Central Park Stadium. It’s a pure adrenalin rush as speedway riders’ race against each other on 500cc bikes which can accelerate from 0-60 quicker than a F1 car, with NO BRAKES, NO GEARS, NO FEAR!!! Two teams of seven riders race against each other over 15 heats, with 2 riders from each team in every heat, racing around a 268 metre oval circuit. Accelerating into the bends at 60mph then flicking out their rear wheel is a sight to be seen!!! The winner earns his team 3 points, second place gets 2 points, and 3rd gets 1 point. It's fast, it's furious, it's family entertainment and it's here at your local track!
As a family we have been to watch the speedway a few times. We have always found the stadium to be great family friendly fun. We can have a bite to eat, something to drink whilst we watch the most exciting sport in Kent. It seems to attract everyone from the very young to the very old, male & female. If you’ve not been before your in for a great treat.

Some gardens you walk into and just get the feeling, and this is one of them. It’s gorgeous and full of interesting plants such as the Californium tree poppies (Romneya). The topiary is excellent and there are features of interest at every turn. The cakes and drinks were yummy, and the weather was good to us. What’s not to like?

So much fun for kids and parents alike! We created gifts for grandparents and Christmas decorations. I brought my 4 year old and 2 month old and the staff were amazing with both...helping my eldest with his creation and manipulating my youngest to create perfect handprints on the memorabilia. Much recommended, especially for when soft play is open again! It’s hard to keep a 4 year old and still!

Heritage industrial, narrow gauge railway (2ft 6in between rails) linking the former paper mill site in Sittingbourne to the active paper mill at Kemsley Down. Almost all locomotives and coaches are original to the Railway, which has been operating since 1905. 2020 is the 50th Anniversary of public trains. Your journey starts at Sittingbourne Viaduct station, at the top of an embankment which is currently only accessible by climbing some metal stairs. The station is where the railway used to enter the long-demolished paper mill. Trains travel over the century-old reinforced concrete viaduct to Milton Creek Country Park, where it passes through the freshwater and saltwater marshes to arrive at Kemsley Down station within the paper mill. The journey takes about 15 minutes. Kemsley Down is our main base where the Footplate Cafe, shop, museum, picnic areas and gardens can be found. Due to COVID-19 a special timetable will operate from Wednesday 5th August 2020.

Visited here recently with my partner. There are various trails to walk around, a lake, sculptures dotted around, play area for kids etc. Very nice place and if you walk away from the main area of the park (where lots of people have picnics and play ball games) it is a lot less crowded
