We were looking for a pretty place to take the dogs and go for a little hike in nature. This was exactly what we wanted. Only saw a couple other people hiking so its not over populated. You can do a short hike or keep going. The path is either gravel or well cut grass. The paths are flat. There is even a bathroom on the trail, but no running water. Take water. A lot of the hike is in full sun. We were there about 3 hours, just perfect.

Found this little trail gem with help from Dana at the Hilton Garden Inn South! Nice, quiet trail with pretty view. Off the 229 Minnesota Ave exit.

So many things to do. Lots of different play grounds and even a little outdoor park with sand, stumps, little houses, logs, etc. waking trails and tons of places to picnic. Great place to bring your kids to blow off steam. And it’s all free

Anyone looking for good hiking near Sioux Falls should look no further than Good Earth State Park. With a nice new headquarters with clean bathrooms and good water through drinking fountains this State Park is a must in the Sioux Falls area.

Levitt at the Falls is an outdoor music venue that is located in Falls Park West and features free professional concerts from artists of various genres each summer. The mission of the Levitt at the Falls is to build community through music.
Last summer we went to the High Kings at the Levitt, amazing concert. Its great to sit outside on a summer day and enjoy a concert that would normally cost $50 a person, for essentially free, they just ask for donation of any amount. The only downfall is there are very few food vendors so be prepared to stand in line if you want to eat. I believe this coming summer it will improve as the have a better idea of what to expect for the size of the crowds.

Park with waterfalls where the river flows over many tiers of Sioux quartzite.
This is the second time I’ve been there but I didn’t realize you must walk to the right to see the amazing falls. Last time we went, we had fun climbing on the rocks and didn’t realize the amazing falls and paths and cool historical artifacts. We always park in the first lot so I guess this is how we missed it the first time. My pics probably don’t do it justice, but it was a beautiful winter day and it was cool to even get to walk across the frozen Sioux River to get from one side to the other.

We just loved walking downtown viewing the sculptures. Very clean and inviting store fronts. These sculptures were beautiful. Sure glad no one destroyed these like others that are being destroyed in our Country.

If you’re looking for a nice peaceful place to eat your lunch, read a book, or simply stop to think about all the amazing men and women who have served our country....this is a great place to be. The park is beautifully laid out and is very spacious. The park is well maintained and the statues really make you stop and appreciate the soldiers who have died for our country. I wish my town had something this beautiful to see every day. The paths are easy to navigate by foot or wheelchair and there is a restroom just in case you need that too.
