Sinaia is famous for its natural beauty and the rumored medicinal properties of its mineral springs. Known as “the Carpathian Pearl,” it’s a lovely mountain town whose main attractions are castles, alpine activities like hiking and skiing, and a 17th-century monastery that is still inhabited today.

This 19th-century castle was commissioned by King Carol I and is considered to be one of the most beautiful castles in Europe.
An absolute highlight. The tour was excellent. The guide was friendly and informative, and it is definitely worth the extra charge to take photos of the magnificent rooms.

If you go to Romania, you cannot miss out on a hiking trip in the Bucegi Mountains. We did a one day hike, and I wished we could do some more and stayed more time in that region. The blue cross hike up from Busteni to the Babele is breathtaking, adventurous and awesome! Don't miss out.

I am running out of superlatives here. I have visited this monastery many timesover the years and I am happy to say that it seems to get better every time. It is well maintained and clean, providing neccessary facilities for tourists, and everything people coming to pray or meditate may need. More recently, the old little chapel has been restored and opened to visitors. It is beautiful in its age and simplicity. One more reason to stop over and spend a quiet contemplative time.

What a lovely place Queen Mary and King Ferdinand built! Intimate, cosy, charming. The touch of this great couple can be seen in this whole castle. The heart of the queen rests in the Golden Room. One of the most charming castles I have visited.

This easy to miss place right next to the train station is like a little magic land. It has one very big maquette of Sinaia with running trains and ski lifts and lots of things also. It has a little cafe, few souvenirs and a play space for kids. It's a wonderful cheap stop by
