At AQUA, you can see some fascinating Danish animals in wild natural surroundings. Join the zookeeper who will feed the animals and give you plenty of fascinating information. You will see otters, raccoons, wild boar cubs, snakes and many other wild animals. You can also have lots of fun with water - indoors and outdoors. Enjoy hours of fun on the water playground. In the indoors aquarium, you can see fish at the bottom of the pool through the panoramic windows. Touch the fish in the touch pool and explore the exhibitions that are arranged over 4 floors. In our cafe area next to the large playground, you can at and grill your own food - or enjoy a selection of light dishes in the Cafe Foderbraettet. We serve delicious organic food indoors in the cafe - for lunch and dinner.
Aqua is an aquarium and park area in Silkeborg, Denmark. When you pull up to the site, it looks a little bit like a business park and my hopes weren't too high, to be honest. How I was wrong. The aquarium is interesting with information on the marine life provided in several languages. There are also open tanks where you can reach in and touch the fish, which is wonderful for young children and adults alike. Outside, there is a large play area and water park which is based on the education of children and how important water is to like on the planet. There is a multitude of different things and something for all ages (even the adults). There is a café on the site with some excellent food at a reasonable price plus a kiosk for drinks/ice creams etc. There is also a grill (barbeque) which is provided free for people to use for their own food - I have never seen this before and LOVED this idea. We also went on a boat trip as part of our visit. This was all in Danish and my language skills weren't quite good enough to understand the discussion about the animals and wildlife we might see but the sights were beautiful and it was enjoyable all the same. You also get to see some of Silkeborg's premium properties which are gorgeous, and envy making all in one. Overall, a great day out both for me and my little ones (2 and 3 years old) and our family and their children (6 & 10 years). We will be back.
