Located some two hours from Freetown [at least by lumbering overland truck], the whole feel of the Bureh Beach is relaxation. Most camped on the sand while some pansies stayed in basic rooms in a nearby hotel, our group venue for breakfasts and dinners. The sand is great. Most of the swimming area is sand. It is not a deep bay so you can go quite far out. The arc of the bay is picture perfect. Volleyball is an option. There were other restaurants and several sets of cabanas. Seafood was fresh that day. We headed out on an excursion to nearby Banana Island from there. Trinket buyers were about. We were there on a Sunday and Monday, late night music the first night being a bit annoying. Sunsets did not pan out. It is overall a good spot to recharge the batteries.

It was a delight to take a walk at the beach. And there's a tourist market at the beach for people who want to buy souvenirs. Overall, it was a lovely visit at the beach.

Superb, safe, completely stable and very well maintained, large boat. Eveb on a little bit of choppy water, absolute fantastic crossing and there is no alternative than this company so we highly recommend choosing this to get from Lungi airport to Freetown itself. The coaches that collect you outside the airport are swift and well organised, and similarly the port in Freetown is clean, safe, and very easy to use. Highly recommend $40 per person each way well spent.
