For what is in essence the town park to be one of the highest rated attractions for any town on Trip Advisor it must be something special, but in this case it is. The Quarry, where Percy Thrower was Parks Superintendent for nearly thirty years, is a superb open space which not only contains the excellent Dingle garden, but the beautiful rows of Lime trees that form a central avenue between the Hercules statue and Percy Throwers house, the Quarry lodge, with the excellent St Chads Church as a back drop, and also line the River Severn walkway from the Porthill footbridge all the way to the Greyfriars footbridge. The Dingle is truly superb and all I can say is do not to miss this and walk the wonderful Lime paths when you visit Shrewsbury.

So many route options to take which was great for us with my 6 year old boy and 11 year old daughter so we didn't choose to go to the very top of the peaks but just a good walk around the bottom of the mountains and to see the beautiful little waterfall little tea shop on the car park as you walk to the mountains and waterfall as well, a great visit lovely views absolutely perfect for families

5 of us visited Lion Quays spa yesterday. None of us had been and we all had an amazing time! When we arrived we were shown to the changing rooms and given our locker keys and shown the way to the spa. The changing rooms were cold, but were told the heating was on full. We headed down to the spa and looked around used the sauna and went to the snow cave. There was NO snow!! We were all gutted! We’d really looked forward to using the snow room. When I went to tell the spa reception that there was no snow/ice they said they’d check the temperature but later when we went back it was still the same. Very disappointing. We headed upstairs for a buffet lunch, food was lovely and plenty to choose from! For our treatments we had the mud rusal, dry flotation bed and one of us had a pedicure. All treatments were lovely and the relaxation rooms and snacks were perfect! 2 of us used the gym, it was very well equipped and kept to a high standard of cleanliness and a good choice of machines to use. We will come back in the future, and hopefully next time the snow cave will be working!
