Morton National Park is one of the largest parks in NSW and takes up a fair area of the Southern Highlands. Last time we visited the park we drove in near Ulladulla and visited the amazing Granite Falls and George Boyd Lookout. In this occasion we went to the magnificent Fitzroy Falls and Twin Falls. The gorge with the sandstone cliffs are stunning and the walks are well maintained and interesting. Can’t wait to explore another section at a later date.

Almost no one in the beach. It was wonderful. Miles and miles of clean sand, and just a fabulous walk. The reflections in the water as the waves receded was delightful. Lots of shells but sadly ‘pippies’ are now poisonous. What are we doing to our world. I used to eat these when I was a kid!

Bens walk is a lovely walk along the Shoalhaven river. There are some rocky parts and steep inclines, so good footwear is important. The scenery and sounds of nature are lovely. There is also some aboriginal art to spot along the way. The walk is dog friendly and must be on a leash at all times. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Our twin grand-daughters (just under 3 years’ old) loved this so much we went 3 times. It’s an amazing experience to be so close to these creatures and have them perch on your arms and head, seemingly in afraid.

Kudos to those who maintain the reserve and the facilities. Casual walking tracks, plenty of signage and places to stop and sit and enjoy the surroundings.

We took a break off the Pacific Highway as we were heading south. taking the turn into Lake Conjola. Is a butumen road (Lake Conjola Entrance Rd) , around 7 kilometres to the end. Nice views along the way. At the end of the road, is public access through the caravan park to boat ramp where road finishes. There are toilets here and a well formed ramp to lookouts and beach access. Can return same way or do the walk we did north along the beach, and back around the lagoon. All up about 2.5km over 45 minutes with plenty of stops to enjoy the scenery.

Great location for whale watching in the season. Can drive less than 5 minutes from Ulladulla shops right to the base of the lighthouse for viewing. Or nice 20 minute walk part bush. Also good car parking last turn on the right going towards the lighthouse, steep walk to beach or sit at car park and watch the surf/ers and look for whales.
