This house is also known as the Naranjestan Ghavan Museum. It was once the grand house of the Qavam family who were wealthy governors in the Shiraz region. The house itself is a fine example of 19th century Persian architecture, and the Gardens have been lovingly maintained and are beautiful. Frescoes and carvings in the building depict lions (the family crest) and human figures along with flower motifs. The house was donated in 1966 to Shiraz University and was used as an Asian Art Museum until 1979. Now it is a museum.

Gardens, but not much to see. A bit dried up in March. Pretty setting. Since there is so much to see in Shiraz, maybe Hafez could be missed out, especially as it is another entrance fee to pay! Of course, if the history is important to you, then go.

Ali Ibn Hamzeh Holly Shrine

Women do need to wear a chador and will get a pat down when they enter through their separate entrance.
We found it interesting looking at a new shrine after seeing all of the old historic sites in other cities. It was awesome.
We were given a guide who explained what we were looking, in our language, however it was very hard to hear her at times due to the call being made through the speakers.
Be aware that cameras are not allowed in but cell phones with their cameras are.
Large bags also won't be allowed.
