In busy Shinjuku, you’ll find some of the tallest buildings in Toyko, as well as tons of shopping malls, bars and clubs. To escape the hustle and bustle, TripAdvisor travelers recommend visiting Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, a beautiful and peaceful park in the middle of the city.

On my first day in Tokyo I went to Selection sports store they have a great range of Japanese baseball apparel also American sports apparel, the staff are super friendly and very helpful. The shop was easy to find using google maps between 5 to 10 minutes walk from Shinjuku Station. I will be back when I get back to Tokyo. Thank you Selection for your great service.

The largest Don Quijote in Shinjuku which is located between Shinjuku and Shin-Okubo stations. There is a variety of not only Japanese products but also Korean and other Asian items. It has an exotic atmosphere, many customers who visit the store take pictures, making it a tourist spot. The store offers 40~60,000 items: food, daily necessities, clothing, home appliances, and brand products.

This is one of the best places for craft supplies in Tokyo. One building has sewing notions, yarn, and assorted supplies, the other has fabric. The fabric choices are good, but if you want a really extensive selection you need to go to Nippori fabric town. What I like is the convenience of everything under one roof, and the location. As a knitter, I was specifically looking for yarn, and they have a great selection - both imported and made in Japan. Make sure to check out the top floor - that's their warehouse sale, and I got an amazing deal on a bag of my favorite yarn (more than half off, and way less than I'd pay for the same yarn in the US). I wish I'd had more time to look through the embroidery supplies, they had a good selection of sashiko patterns and embroidery floss.
