The shrines and temples of Kyoto offer a rare link between modern life in the city and its very ancient past. The Shimogamo Shrine dates to the 6th century and seems suspended in time, its serenity and spiritual power still palpable. Visit Fushimi Inari Shrine, then see the life-sized Thousand Armed Kannon statues of Sanjūsangen-dō. Enjoy traditional geisha performances, then savor a tranquil meal at a restaurant overlooking the Kamo River.

Vintage Cocktails, Old-Time Atmosphere, Magic House, Elixirs and Mystery. Are you ready to take a step into the unknown?!
My boyfriend and I absolutely enjoyed our time here at L’escomoteur. Seriously the ambience and setting is FANTASTIC!! All the tools and props are wonderfully curated to fit the intended aesthetics of this magical bar. The cocktail menu was insane. Very thoughtfully crafted with interesting ingredients you never thought would go well together to give multi-dimensional drinks that was so full of depth and flavour. We both had 6 drinks in total and we would have more if we didn’t spend our dinner time queuing and had to rush off before all the other restaurants closed for dinner. This place is such a gem and I would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone coming to Kyoto!!! Please. This is absolutely one of the highlights of my entire Japan trip. Thank you Christophe!
