March 11, 2022 Augustus Redeker

Sailing, diving, fishing and relaxing are the main activities for visitors to the 155 islands of this Indian Ocean archipelago. Mahé, Praslin and La Digue are the most popular islands. Mahé boasts 65 silver beaches, plus an array of restaurants, cafés, bars and casinos in the tiny capital, Victoria. The Seychelles are home to UNESCO-designated sites, coral atoll Aldabra and Vallée de Mai, called the Garden of Eden. Creole is the main language, but English and French are widely spoken.

Spiagge di Anse Marron

Reviewed By IamRichie - Haarlem, The Netherlands

MUST READ BEFORE GOING Never go without a guide! Why? When we walked the tour today (26-1-2020) with a guide we found a young man dead on the rocks between Anse Source D’Argent and Anse Martin (around Anse aux Cedres). The poor guy went without a guide and really unfortunately paid with his life (it seemed that he tried to walk via the high dangerous part while the safe path was via the low part). I’m so sorry for his family and loved ones and would like to send my deepest condolences to them. There are several post here at TripAdvisor which suggest you can easily do the tour yourself which is really misleading (!!!) and make people take great risks with their lives. Because of these posts I also considered going by myself as they made it seem easy but my gut feeling happily told me to go with a guide. Maybe they are experienced rock climbers (which most of us are not) and completely walked the same safe route as the guides do (which I highly doubt because of the below reasons)?! I myself am really fit and I must say that it’s not easy and a really tricky tour without proper guidance going from Grand Anse beach to Anse Marron and than further to Anse Source D’Argent. Please note the following: - You need to be fit and the safe route is very hard to be found; - the walk includes climbing through small areas below the rocks (which prevents you having to climb the dangerous upper rocks where one could easily slip) and you are walking through really dense jungle areas; - I’m 100% certain that people trying to do it themselves will not take the same safe road (meaning take a more risky road) as I really simply sometimes could not see where we would go next (and even surprised me as the more logical way to me looked differently); - you need to wear proper hiking shoes to prevent any slipping. You will also walk parts through the water (even at low tide when we went); - never go when it has rained or will be raining. It will be very slippery on the rocks. With a guide you are able to enjoy this nice experience and they take no risk at all with any of the customers. They for example don’t go when it has rained and for them the safety of their customers is o so important because an heavy injury or death will mean closure of their business and possibly even prison time. So please use this information so you can make a well informed decision on what to do. The tour itself is really nice and you see some great beaches but not worth dying for when you take excessive risks by going by yourself. Ps: 1. for clarity I’m not at all involved with any tour guides what so ever. With this post I want to prevent any more people getting hurt because saving the small amount of money is not worth it! 2. Please LIKE and share the post to bring it to the attention of as much people as possible. 3. I’m attaching some nice photos I took because the tour is nice and this post is not meant to discourage anybody from going, but I do want you to be well informed.

Anse Georgette

This small, serene beach is among the most beautiful on Praslin Island.

Reviewed By illusions328 - Great Falls, United States

this is a small beautiful beach with easy access for Constance Lemuria guests (10min free buggy ride every hour) and less easy access for outside guests, 25min-30min walk from parking outside the hotel through the golf course on a hilly but well maintained path. If you are staying at the hotel, this is the only beach you need to be at. we were surprised to see so few hotel guests take the extra 10mins to get to this beach as most of them spent time at petite anse kerlan which gets very busy. this is not a secluded/isolated beach but because access isn't easy, the crowds are much lower than the likes of anse laszio. we were often the first on the beach around 9am and first to depart around noon after which the crowds start to grow. so for that isolated Cast Away feeling come early! water and weather is still very warm this beach has it all, beautiful surroundings, granite rock and all, white soft sand and and beautiful clear blue water. it seems to be a safe beach to swim (depending on season/current conditions) and plenty of shade. there are no facilities but you can buy juice/fruit from a local vendor. we spent 4 mornings at this beach during our 4 night stay @ the lemuria.

Anse Coco Beach

Reviewed By maggie_sor - Hovas, Sweden

One of the best beaches, but it can be tough to get there when it's hot. You can expect a hike of about 30-45 minutes in hilly terrain. Bring water well. First, pass the Grand Anse. About the middle of Grand Anse is a large stone and behind it begins the path. Cross a concrete bridge and then keep right. when you come across the first ridge you come to Petit Anse which is also a very nice beach. Here, there is usually a small bar selling coconuts and small palm huts on the beach to get shade. Good as a break on the way home. If you can continue, the path goes in the forest behind Petit Anse and over the next mountain ridge. Then you come down to a beach where there are very few people. Most go farthest away because there is a small pool where you can snorkel in quite calm water.

This is another beautiful beach in the South East of La Digue, although, this can be reached only by doing a small 15 min hike through the rocks and vegetation from Grand Anse. You get super awesome views of the beach at certain points during the hike.
