My fiance' and I spent a day of our first trip to AK experiencing the Kenai Fjords Cruise. From start to finish the experience was amazing. The staff we exceptionally welcoming, resourceful, and professional. The Captian had the perfect voice for touring. Maybe we lucked out but he was able to not only get us close enough to see the glaciers and the landmarks but also, he and his crew found several bears, dolphins, orca, humpback and eagles for us to view from the ship.

This was a highlight for our trip to Alaska. The hike along the Manatuska glacier was truly spectacular. Our guide Bill was extremely knowledgeable and taught us a lot about the glacier as well as the surrounding area. Seeing a glacier up close was a memory we will never forget.

Extremely disappointed in the conduct of the crew of the Spirit of Adventure. I trusted them to have my safety as a priority and it clearly was not. Masking was not enforced in public areas at all and crew members were walking about unmasked. Their COVID policies are a joke. If Major Marine cannot follow Federal law on masking, then who knows what other laws they are not following? Is the crew trained properly? Is the boat safe? Probably not. They are profit driven and not at all concerned for the safety of their passengers.

After reading quite a few reviews on fjord tours from Seward, we made the decision to go with Kenai mainly because they had less of a packed boat than Major Marine, as I am very COVID conscious, being from NYC. I'm so glad we did! To address the COVID concerns- our boat's capacity was normally 150, but they limited the capacity by 50%. Although inside every table was filled, most people were wearing masks, and there was plenty of room to stand/sit outside. We got lucky and the weather was amazing, so I was outside the entire time. Now on to the fun stuff...the sights! We were amazed by orca, dolphins, otters, sea lions, eagles and more! And to top it all off, the glacier was magical. The captain/tour guide and the staff aboard were great- so kind and informative, and the lunch was quite good as well. My only suggestion/comment is that it's very hard to hear the narration of the guide unless you're inside or directly under the speakers, which are only placed near the doors. Especially not great during COVID, because you are then forced to be close to each other to listen, but not great regardless, as you can't be far from the doorway if you want to hear what the captain is saying. Aside from that, it was wonderful!
