This area provides birders with views of fulmars, petrels, puffins, murres, kittiwakes and auklets.
This is one of those places you should take the time to slow down and enjoy the town of Seward, the friendly residents, good restaurants and beautiful scenery. The walk along the bay goes from the port to the Sea Life Center. Near the port their are restaurants and shops. Further down are campgrounds. There are rest rooms and a park with playground equipment. Watching the techniques of the fishermen and women is interesting with salmon jumping all about. Beautiful blue waters, mountains and today a rainbow! A place we won’t ever forget.

Took a kayaking tour of the glacier. Paddling among ice bergs and seals near the glacier was a once in lifetime experience. Beautiful. Calming, Majestic.

A unique national park, full of wildlife of all sorts. At least two different operators offer cruises out here, ranging from a few hours to a full day. It is definitely worth a day of your time and the expense to go out here and experience coastal sea life. We saw sea otters, Steller sea lions, orcas, MANY humpback whales, one Beluga whale, eagles, puffins, murres, harbor seals, etc. Breathtaking landscape, including two glaciers that one can cruise up to and watch calve. Great experience.

Amazing views of Seward and Resurrection Bay. My brother and I decided on the not recommended trails; it's not recommended for a reason. The race trails are very steep, overgrown, and confusing. Stick to the recommended trails and you'll be fine - still steep. We also saw a black bear in the brush so take bear spray.

An education and research-focused aquarium offering underwater views of Alaskan marine animals.
We enjoyed our visit to the Alaska SeaLife Center. They have a great variety of animals and fun, informative exhibits. We particularly liked the aviary, as we were there for a very raucous feeding frenzy! Cover your ears if the Black Oystercatcher is out and about! The seals and sea lions are also fun, and I enjoyed the touch tank. It was very cold, but offered the chance to feel the texture of some interesting animals. There are also some cool fish species as well. I thought some were lying dead on the bottom of the tanks, but realized that life in the arctic seas means they need to conserve energy! There were also some neat crabs. Finally, the Center has a very nice gift shop. I highly recommend a visit to the Alaska SeaLife Center. I almost dinged them a star for cost, but I felt it was overall a good value for the experience and to support their rescue and rehab efforts.

We had a beautiful evening walking along the waterfront, all the way from the Iditarod zero mile marker to the small boat harbor. There are tent and RV sites along the way, and since we visited during COVID, it wasn't crowded. There are also interesting little things to see, such as a Japanese pavilion, Iditarod statues, and a flower garden.

So peaceful, saw American Bald Eagles, Bears, and Salmon. What can I say but that you must see this place to appreciate it.

We parked and watched the salmon swimming and jumping upstream. This is to the left of the building; cross the street to view salmon jam-packed in the creek! They are jumping and splashing; it’s fascinating to watch their spawning struggle.
