Mileseva is an orthodox monastery located in the western part of Serbia. It was built in the 13th Century and it is one of the typical walled monasteries to defend from ottomans. Really, the main church is wonderful and the views of the church and the surrounding mountains is fantastic. Also, the river, which flows close to the wall. Inside the church there are some well preserved frescos and around it, you can see some buildings of the complex, where religious people live, eat, sleep or work. In the surroundings of this religious complex, there is the remains of a Middle Ages fortress, which is located on top f a mountain. We did not know how arrive there, so we only saw this fortress from the road.

With our coach tour from Viking cruise PASSAGE TO EASTERN EUROPE we surely came across this architectural gem! One has to admire all these Serbian Orthodox Cathedrals. You can find more info on my blogpost from July 14, 2019: Day 6, Panoramic Belgrade, Serbia
