What to do and see in Serangoon Central, Singapore: The Best Things to do

January 16, 2022 Madelene Haan

The Singapore cityscape looks like it was ripped from the pages of a science fiction comic book. If you’re hungry for a true Singapore experience, sample the myriad street foods or take a cultural cooking class. The Botanic Gardens and the Gardens By the Bay offer a slice of horticultural heaven, and the observation deck of the Sands SkyPark makes you feel like you’re high above the clouds. The banks and walkways along the Singapore River bustle with local activity.

Coney Island Park

Reviewed By Hasnah1962 - Singapore, Singapore

We had a good walk this morning reaching 13,000 steps, from Punggol Settlement to and around Coney Island. The island formerly known as Pulau Serangoon, located off the northeastern coast of Singapore within the town of Punggol, was once owned by entrepreneur siblings Haw Boon Aw and Aw Boon Par, before being sold to an Indian businessman, Ghulam Mahmood, in 1950 with the intention of turning the island into a resort modelled after the amusement area at Coney Island New York. The island with beach stretching 2km wide by 2.4km length, linked to the main island by two bridges on its western at Punggol and its eastern end at Lorong Halus near Pasir Ris. It was an easy hike just follow the recommended path. NEA has done a very good job, the island is very clean and we did not encounter any sand fly. Would love to do it again. ????‍♂️????‍♀️????‍♂️????‍♀️
