Discover Montana's winter wonderland on snowmobile! Join our experienced, friendly guides to enjoy breathtaking scenery, wildlife viewing, off-trail play areas, pristine unspoiled vistas, and more......
Three couples from Florida visited Jack’s Rich Ranch this past week for a snowmobiling adventure. We had a great time snowmobiling for the first time and exploring this beautiful winter wonderland! The equipment was provided for a small daily rental fee so we didn’t have to over pack for our trip. The cabin was roomy, warm and the beds and pillows very comfortable. The three couples enjoyed our cabin facilities that even included a full kitchen. The snowmobile trails were well groomed and our safety was Jack’s top priority. He gave an excellent safety orientation regarding the equipment before we started on the first day so we all felt comfortable. There was always a guide at the front of our group and a guide at the back of our group to make sure we didn’t have any problems. Everyone felt very safe the entire trip. After our morning rides we would stop for lunch at the local resturants for some delicious meals. The snow was magnificent and the scenery unbelievable! We started every morning with a hearty breakfast and ended every night with a delicious dinner which included fabulous desserts. Jack’s hospitality made us Floridians feel like family. This is an all inclusive package which is hard to find when you are looking for resorts so we never had to carry money along on our rides. If you are looking for a great snowmobile adventure I highly recommend Rich Ranch. We will definitely be back again as Jack now calls us family! Kay and Marty Mikulas Ft Myers, Florida

The Seeley Lake Historical Museum was built in the winter 1929-30 as a horse barn on the Double Arrow Ranch where the roof collapsed during the 100-year snow of 1996-97. The barn was moved about a half mile from its original location and first reopened the barn doors in 2001 after it had been salvaged, dismantled and rebuilt Lincoln-log style. The old barn continues to serve the needs of its surroundings, recalling the past while looking to the future of the Seeley Lake Area. Seven double size (two horse) stalls are themed displays about our local cultural and natural resources. Each stall, named after a team of horses which had occupied it, brings back memories for some and tweaks imagination for for others. Display themes include Joe Waldbillig Pioneer Display, Norman Maclean fire and fish display., The Big Burn fire of 1910, Cabin Fever Cures, Local business history display, Old Time Logging, and Wilderness Epicenter. The outside grounds have additional displays.

Beautiful falls, easy trail. Unfortunately the 2017 forest fire in the local area burned much of the surrounding forest.

We were really impressed by how friendly the staff were as soon as we arrived at Placid Lake State Park. They were great with the check in and even helped us fill our camper with water. The park is very clean, well maintained and monitored. All facilities including the restrooms and shower were very clean. The price of firewood was reasonable and best value in the area. Even thou it is a short drive off the highway, the view and peacefulness is relaxing.
