So we are probably the only people who didn’t know there are no seals in Seal Beach. Beautiful views from the long pier and I’m sure the wide beach is perfect in warmer weather. We had a great lunch at the Hangout bar/restaurant right across the street and then spent time in the many shops downtown. Lots of other restaurants to choose from.

This is a nice area to visit with small children , short trails through various plants and trees, small ponds along the way. Opportunities to teach children about wild life and nature. There is a visitor station that explains about the different things at the center.

This is a first class tour with multiple stops at excellent restaurants, bars, tea rooms, and other venues. This is a walking neighborhood of beautiful waterfront homes. Park your car near the business area and then walk for a couple of hours, taking pictures of the canals, boats, homes and gardens. Would be a wonderful area to paddle through on the water also. We met some of the local homeowners on out walk and they were all very friendly. We were there during Halloween season and there were many homes that were decorated. I am certain many homes will be decorated at Christmas, too. Lovely way to spend an afternoon outdoors.

One of the nicest piers in LA. We love walking on the pier and watching the surfers. Seal Beach Main Street leads you straight onto the pier.

The boats are in top condition--clean and comfortable. The catamaran style boat makes for the smoothest and most comfortable ride to the island. Food service is fast and simple. We had seats outside in the back and we were able to enjoy watching dolphins jump in the boat's wake for several minutes of the ride!

We were on vacation and dogless. We went for a walk down the beach and suddenly there were dogs. Happy, playing, running, swimming dogs. This is like the happiest place on earth to see these guys. We loved it and got to pet a bunch of the little furballs. Great place

M&M Surfing School located at Seal Beach, Cali. Meeting in the north parking lot Mike greets his daily students and gets everyone geared up with necessary equipment. Don't own a board? No worries, Mike is always prepared. His classes are taught personally by himself or his son or other super qualified surfers. It doesn't matter your skill level Mike will gear your lesson to your ability. He is fabulous with kids and goes out of his way to ensure everyone gets up and surfs. It's a family friendly business and repeat gremmies , like me, have been return customers to refine our aging skills. Mike Pless is the owner/instructor and has the social skills of a saint. He lives a gentle kind life and it reflects in his business approach. Often times Mike takes the students to lunch over to El burrito Jr. Restaurant and meets up with family, friends, locals and potential students.
If you ever wanted to surf but felt uncomfortable taking that first step then look up M&M Surf School in Seal Beach or track him down in the parking lot. You can't miss his rig stacked with surfboards. Mike also adorns his Santa suit every Christmas and is a regular fixture of Seal Beach and represents everything good that can be found there.

Fun, family friendly waterfront. Nice paved path for walking/running or biking. Multiple public restrooms along the path. Large selection of shops and restaurants along the way. Beautiful views of the ocean, the Queen Mary, docked cruise ships. The sandy beach is intermittently littered which is the only downside. Otherwise, an enjoyable way to spend some time outside in Long Beach!

38 miles of non stop, no traffic, protected bike trail from Seal Beach to the base of the San Gabriel Mountains. If you want, you can continue into the mountains and ride all the way to the headwaters of the San Gabriel River. The trail has been recently resurfaced and it is very smooth the entire way. The lower 1/3 and the upper 1/3 are the most scenic. Enter from the 1st street beach parking lot in Seal Beach and head toward the mountains. There are lots of parks along the way so water is plentiful, but if you need to get something to eat, you'll have to exit the trail at one of the major cross streets. It's downhill, but upwind from the mountain to the sea, so allow extra time for the return to Seal Beach.
