Steve is a wonderful person! I’ve come all the way from Bulgaria and so far I’ve enjoyed his museum the most in Columbus. The collection is really nice and the combination of his classic american cars from the 50-60s, his very rare license plates, signs and items is a perfect combo and creates an unforgettable experience. He knows his stuff and he will be glad to give you a tour.

Schiller park is in the heart of German Village. It has a pond where children can fish and release. The park has walking paths and a small ampatheater where different Shakespeare plays are performed along with several other activities. Currently they have about 2 dozen pieces of art gravity defying sculptures suspended from wires above walkways, pond, between trees and many other areas. These pieces of art are on loan from a Polish artist. Many are sporting sculptures. The park also has a enclosed recreation center for community events, basketball, dancing, exercise. During the spring and summer they have many different types of flowers in bloom. The park is about 3 blocks by 2 blocks in size.

Schmidt's Fudge Haus

Reviewed By DavidTackettTravel - Danville, United States

Schmidt’s Fudge Haus is a stop you must make in German village. In addition to a number of handmade delectables the shop also offers a large quantity of German trinkets and novelty items. Greeted by Keith who offered his knowledge and a smile (behind his mask) gave samples, recommendations and historical tidbits while I shopped. The fudge: All the showcase candy is made in house. I recommend the turtles, Buckeyes and peanut butter cups. Each piece is creamy and rich in texture. There isn’t enough “o” in smooth to describe the peanutbutter. This is luxury chocolate and will cost a little more than a gas station peanut butter cup... but let’s face it who wants bologna when you can have filet? If you haven’t tried Asbach a traditional liquor filled candy this is offered (imported, not made in house). Vintage selection: The shop offers candy you didn’t know was available any more. Blackjack gum, slow poke, wax lips, smoothie, and more. Trinkets: Authentic German made “smoker” sculptures, Christmas ornaments, puzzles, toys, postcards, coasters, and more. Stop by this cozy sister store to the sausage Haus you will not regret it. Please look at my other reviews in the area.. -Schmidt’s Sausage Haus -German Guest House -Other World
