Glucksburg is a nice little village just a few miles east of Flensburg. Glucksburg Castle makes the place both intresting, its a beautiful castle and as an historic hot spot!

I’ve been there twice already. Each time after having visited the Viking city Haitabu. First time we we went to the newly restored Baroque garden and the Globe house only, since we thought the entrance fee for the castle is to high. The garden is amazing and worth a visit! Second time we gave it a try and bought a ticket for the castle and we’ve been blown away. Not necessarily by the interior but by the size of the exhibition and the items that are shown. Much more to see than in some other famous exhibitions and really worth it. You can spend a day just inside the building walking over four flows feeling exhausted afterwards. Do it! Grab a coffee and one of the fine cakes from the Café Occo inside the main building
