Charming Savannah is the picture of antebellum hospitality, thanks to period architecture and oak-lined streets. It’s tempting to spend your trip just relaxing on vast verandas and sipping mint juleps, but there are plenty of historical sites and museums to explore. Haunting (and possibly haunted) Bonaventure Cemetery is one of the hallmarks of the city, featuring beautiful obelisks, masses of flowers, and ivy-covered crypts. Dine on fresh seafood and creamy grits for a taste of Savannah home cooking.

700 Kitchen Cooking School, presents both individuals and groups with an exclusive opportunity to enjoy entertaining and engaging culinary programs in a state-of-the-art environment. From interactive hands-on culinary classes for individuals or teams, to unique culinary programs for groups, 700 Kitchen Cooking School offers new tastes, flavors and techniques for everyone regardless of experience in The Mansion of Forsyth Park.
We spent the evening with executive chef Jason at the 700 Kitchen Cooking School in July and had a wonderful time. Jason taught us how to prepare a wonderful four-course dinner consisting of shrimp bisque, seared halibut with cabernet mushroom risotto, an herb-roasted tenderloin with bearnaise sauce paired with roasted vegetable hash, and a delicious espresso chocolate mousse with raspberries for dessert. The dinner even included wine! The food and drink alone were well worth the cost of the cooking class (you won't find a better meal in Savannah in our opinion) but the laid-back atmosphere and manner in which our meal was prepared put the whole experience over the top. We were able to participate in the process and were provided more than a few cooking tips along the way including how to prevent butter sauces from breaking- an issue I always run into when I am trying to cook fancy.) Jason's hospitality made it the best experience of our weekend in Savannah. The food was exceptional and Jason's down-to-earth easy-going manner made the evening one to remember. We would highly recommend this class to anyone visiting Savannah. You will not be disappointed!!!

Chef Darin Sehnert has garnered acclaim for his hands-on cooking classes in Savannah for over 9 years. Originally the opening chef instructor for the Mansion on Forsyth Park, he has opened his own cooking school specifically designed to give guests the maximum hands-on experience! Hands-on classes are scheduled all year long throughout the week. Private classes for groups may also be arranged.
Chef Darin really made our cooking experience memorable and fun! We've taken many cooking classes and his was exceptional and the food was delicious!
