I rode the the Waterfalls on a scooter from Savai'i Lagoon in the north and it took just over an hour each way.
It was definitely worth the trip, the Waterfalls are amazing, crystal clear, cool water and easy to access by vehicle.
This is a must do whilst you are visiting Savai'i!

We enjoyed this place, something really unique.
There was a new toilet building added (2017) which was good.
The humming or breathing rocks are really cool.
Go with a local guide!
The village collects a "donation" of $5 Samoan Tala per person on entry.
The area is still very untouched, you will have to drive past village homes that have back yards strewn with rubbish which does ruin things a bit.
Would be better once locals realise that the plastic bottles and cups etc do not break down. Drink coconut water, environmentally friendly packaging.

Three snorkeling stops over the morning gave us varied views of life outside the inner reef. Olaf, the boss, and Jeremiah, the guide, looked after us well. We are in our seventies so Jeremiah took our camera and rewarded us with some excellent shots beyond our depth and staying powers. On the last stop we were joined by a turtle, who was expecting us - an exhilarating 20 minutes!
The boat is in great order, with easy access off the stern

Nice short walk through the rain forest, rest room provided and also short climb up to cross over the canopy I would have thought it could go longer but it was enough, the fee covers for another site situated down the road

The visit is with a guide which wasn't really crazy about giving that tour, so the tour was really short. Yet I was able to see the fields and the ruins of the church. So while it's nothing supergreat, it's still a nice sight to go see.

MotoSamoa is the only Scooter Rental business in Samoa. Situated on Savaii, we can cater for all travellers throughout Samoa.
Kevin came back to us one week after we left Samoa saying that he had recalculate everything and that he already charged us over 100 tala more on our card... We were very upset about this kind of manners, because we felt that Kevin was very helpful and very nice to us during our trip.
To justify the excess charges, he said that we had made several changes to our bookings, which we did not, that we had to pay for a flat tyre and some surchage for using the credit card...
We never booked anything on the website because there was innapropriate charges for the delievery and stuff, which we brought to his attention. So, Kevin calculated by himself the charges for our bookings and we had to pay by credit card because our flight was outside the opening hours for the pick up of the scooter. He never mentionned any credit card charges.
Kevin was supposed to leave the scooter for us at a hotel near of the airport, but at our arrival, there was no scooter for us at the pick up point. He managed to drop it to us the next day.
We contact him by email many times during our holidays to find a way to reedeem the day that we lost on our bookings. We were very grateful to him to take the time to find a solution and to manage to make it happen. We had many misunderstanding due to the fact that english is our second language, not our mother tongue, and we apologized for that, but this is a comment thing when you work in tourism...
We finally had our free day on the last day of our vacation, but when we got to the pick up point there was no booking in the system. We had to pay for the booking and when we drop the scooter off, we were refund at Kevin request, which we were really grateful to stand to his words.
Before leaving the Islands, we thank him a lot for everything that he managed to do for us and we wouldnt have been offended if he could have asked for more money in a more respectful way. Sending us an email to say that he already charge the amount was really innapropriate.
I agreed with my company to pay him a part of the charges and after a little more than 3 months of dispute... we finally had a partial refund....
Kevin is a nice guy, but I wouldn't recommand his company unfortunetely

It was nice to see and feed the turtles but the facilities are not clean, need the right change otherwise you overpay or don’t get to see the turtles. It is literally like in someone’s backyard. Toilet facilities are not clean and no toilet paper (my child didn’t want to use it). You begin to question if the turtles are actually in a good environment. We visited after some heavy rain and found the setting looking out to the river was beautiful but don’t feel that the owners need to spend some time on improving the facilities for visitors and the turtles.

Some items are a little different from the Apia markets although like the Apia markets you do have to watch the prices as we saw one particular item and received a price but when we came back the next day it was suddenly a lot more expensive. One of the sales people at another store also tried to put the price up once I had agreed to pay what she originally asked for by 10 tala saying she made a mistake on the price. But if you tell them you'll only pay the original price, they tend to go back to what they said.

We did this trip about 18 months ago and decided to repeat it to show our guests staying with us. You really do need a 4 wheel drive vehicle. We managed to drive just past De Crater Man's Fale before parking and walking the rest of the way. There has been NO maintenance done on the track and all the signs de crater man erected a number of years ago have not been maintained YET he felt he should charge us his ' New Charge' after me asking what it cost he replied 'The same as you paid last time'. I gave him $20 WST which was $5 per person. He then asked me where we were staying and then declared he had a new charge of $80!! He got quite angry when I resisted this new charge. Given there are NO amenities like toilets available and there is nothing done to enhance ones visit, this was a total rip off. The old Fale he used to use is still full of rubbish like it was 18 months ago. All in all this was a very disappointing visit and one I would not recommend doing. Save your breathe and your money.
