The second-largest island in Mediterranean after Sicily, Sardinia serves up a lovely blend of sea, sand and history. Thousands of nuraghe (stone buildings) dot the landscape, proof that people have been enjoying the lovely climate here for millennia. From posh Costa Smerelda in the north to medieval Alghero in the northwest to the lively capital of Cagliari in the south, and with many picturesque towns and unspoiled sandy beaches in between, Sardinia’s got a little something for everyone.

Spending the day with Annarita was absolutely incredible. Her knowledge of and passion for this magnificent part of history is unmatched. We were having such a great time connecting with her that our time went by so quickly. We’ll be requesting her for future tours in the area, for sure. We’ll also be returning to the palace now that we have a better understanding of its history. Treat yourself to this very special experience!

The tour includes a visit to the village museum of San Sperate, the birthplace of the recently disappeared Pinuccio Sciola, artist and sculptor of the stones (he could magically make them play). Along the streets, we will find several of his works and his biggest import: the murals. These are paintings on the walls of the houses they tell about the history and the daily habits of the village. Every corner of the country breathes art and culture that meet with the kindness and availability of the inhabitants.

We made a nice e-bike trip with our host Valentina through Cagliari. The city is big and hilly. But with the e-bikes it was easy explorable and made a lot fun. Valentina introduced the city with its historical and religious side like the procession Feast of Sant’Efisio. She gave also recommendations where to eat typical Sardinian food. At the end of our tour, we spend time together at a street restaurant, drank a coffee and had a nice chat. If you spend some time in Cagliari, then use this option and discover a beautiful city by bike.

Enjoy this unique private tour with a local guide, who will be able to tell you the historical facts about the archaeological sites of Alghero: the nuraghe Palmavera, dating back to 1500 BCE, and the necropolis of Anghelu Ruju, with its 6000 years of "life". From your own accommodation directly to the unique history of these ancient sites (TRANSFER IS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE!). Discover the Nuragic civilization, one of the greatest inhabitants of Europe before the Roman Empire expansion. Kevin, your professional local guide, is bilingual in Italian and English and he has always lived in Alghero, so that he will be able to answer your questions and also give you some useful information about the town, such as where to eat or what to do in Alghero and in the island. *If you wish not to visit both archaeological sites, Kevin will be happy to lead you to the old town for a short visit of the Catalan-style city fortress, without any extra charge. Just let Kevin know when meeting him.
Inclusions: Admission ticket for the archaeological sites, Private tour with a qualified local guide, Private transportation
Exclusions: City tour in Alghero (it can be made if you decide not to visit one of the two archaeological sites)
This tour is worth doing it for many reasons! First, Kevin, the guide, is a local but has an English mother, so you won't struggle to understand him as it happens with some Italian tour guides :P Then he is smart and knowledgable, but at the sime time he paid attention to our needs. Alghero is a gem and visiting it with a guide gives it that special touch!

A walk through the narrow streets of the old district of Castello, to discover the beauties of the city. Among Medieval Towers, Bastions, the Royal Palace and the Cathedral we will discover the history of this amazing fortress facing the sea. Cagliari is an ancient city with a very long history. Its origin dates back to the Phoenician Karalis, developed on a settlement traced back to the III Millennium b.C.. During the roman time became the capitol of the island and in the middle ages was the seat of different foreign dominations, which evanescencies are still visible. The panoramic points of Castello will offer us an unforgettable view of the city and of the sea, of the Molentargius’ park and the Devil’s Saddle in all their beauty.

Mauro was an excellent guide - very punctual and to be honest it's the only way to see the Old Town and much more if you are based at Poetto Beach. The nearest I can describe the experience is like being in one of the Mini's in the Italian Job! Nipping in and out of unmissable narrow streets you would possibly ignore if you were on foot and you certainly couldn't get to with anything bigger than the Tuk Tuk. Mauro is a font of knowledge about the City and the Tuk Tuk was really comfortable - with its open top and seating for two it is the perfect Covid safe vehicle. I have rarely had so much fun getting an overview of the City. This is not to be missed!
