Saratoga Springs is one of those special getaway spots where everything is just, well, pretty close to perfect. The city's lovely tree-lined streets and grand old Victorians, porch swings swaying and gardens brimming with colorful flora bring to mind a gentler era. World-class horse racing, renowned performing arts and natural springs spas, plus 13 golf courses, 10 museums, a historic battlefield, fabulous boutiques, antiques and restaurants mean there is something for everyone. Relax at the Lincoln Mineral Baths, window shop in town and then it's off to the races. Walk everywhere, it's that kind of place. One of the oldest tourist destinations in the United States, Saratoga offers ample accommodation choices in elegant hotels, historic bed and breakfasts or comfortable inns. The only drawback is you may never want to leave.

This famed 350-acre racetrack features thoroughbred horseracing during its six-week season from late July through early September. Though one of the sport's premier events, the races often take second place to people-watching.
The best horses, trainers and owners are at Saratoga every summer for 40 days of fantastic horse racing. I have attended many times and will return many more times. The NYRA does a great job with this meet and the history dating back to 1863 is incredible. If you haven’t been there you must add it to your bucket list.

Find out where to dine, what to see and where to stay at this informational center filled with brochures, maps and guides for visitors.
This review encompasses the entire center city. Outlined by Congress Park, the many shops and eateries in "The Gut", the wide and bountiful strip on Broadway packed with cultural foods and shops, and the cleanliness and kindness of the people. I would love to make this a regular stop.

This is a truly beautiful spot right in the center of the downtown area. Lovely statues and Victorian age architecture that really brings you back in time.

While being socially restricted during this pandemic it's nice to have a place to walk to and around while enjoying the view. Waterfront Park fits the bill! Burn a few calories going up and down the stairs and road, bring your kayak to launch, enjoy the view over looking Saratoga Lake. Just keep safe-distancing and it's all yours and it's free.

The Saratoga Performing Arts Center is home to an acoustically ideal amphitheater, the Spa Little Theatre, the Charles R. Wood Gazebo Stage and The Jazz Bar — all nestled in an idyllic park setting surrounded by hiking trails, geysers and natural mineral springs. Our main stage has a 25,000 person capacity with sheltered seats for 5,200 people and a sloping lawn for an additional 20,000 people. The stage is home to New York City Ballet and Philadelphia Orchestra performances in addition to shows by Live Nation. Our amphitheater also hosts the popular “SPAC on Stage” series. For many of our classical performances, tickets start at $18-$29 for lawn admission and children under 15 are free on the lawn (not applicable to Live Nation concerts).
SPAC is a great spot to see any kind of live performance. It beautifully located in natural setting with indoor seating and a lawn area. If you are going to see either the New York City Ballet or the Philadelphia Orchestra you can bring your own food and drinks and have a great picnic before the performance starts or you can opt for the concession stands where you can purchase wine or beer and food. Sitting inside has great site lines but you can still enjoy a performance sitting in the outdoor lawn area.
