This place was just wonderful. We drove almost 3 hrs here from Puerto Plata and it was so worth it. Because of covid, we had the entire plantation to ourselves. Everyone here was so professional and gracious. We learned a lot and it was so peaceful just walking around the farm. The local lunch was also super delicious and highly recommended. I have no doubt this place makes the best chocolate in DR.

Phenomenal tour! We saw the Tres Ojos, the Presidential Palace, Christopher Colombia final Reston place, Zonia Colonia...and so much more. It was a private tour with just my daughter and myself. Our guide provided water, hand sanitizer, and sanitizing wipes. Masks were on at all time. He answered every question and gave us tips on negotiating with vendors. Phenomenal!

When I started planning our honeymoon trip, I wanted to include a true cultural experience, in our plans. We had reservations at a very nice all inclusive resort in Punta Cana, but I know (from experience) these type places actually kind of shield you from the true flavor, culture and experience of the country they are supposed to represent. So, I set out to find an experienced and highly regarded local guide. Using the internet and friending several people on FB, I found several people that had wonderful experiences with Mr. Jose. After contacting and discussing what I was looking for myself and Wife to experience, I felt I could not go wrong. Well, I was SO right. Jose is a fine gentleman and true steward of his fine country. His knowledge and passion is second to none. We only had a day to go to the city and he utilized every second of our day to the fullest! He gifted me with exactly what I had asked him to provide, a true taste of The Dominican Republic. The city, the rich colonial history, the forest, a waterfall (that we had all to our selves), a wonderful little rural town (where we dined on very authentic, amazing food with locals), some freshly prepared milk candy that was to die for and all the history and local flavor that we could soak in, within the 12 hours we spent together. We so enjoyed ourselves that I am already planning to bring my 17 year old stepson and stay in the city, so we have more time to soak up the beautiful Dominican culture. That day was truly one of the most memorable I've ever had traveling and to top it all off, we gained a new friend. Muchos gracias amigo, Brian K Pinsonat & Angela T Pinsonat Hope to see you soon!

Immerse yourself in the rich colonial history of the city, visit local markets, find some of the must-try treat of Santo Domingo, then finish the day with an icy-cold Dominican beer. As we walk, we will visit the Indepence Park, a landmark place celebrating the independence of the Dominican Republic, reaching the ancient city walls from where you will hear about Santo Domingo's rich history, such as how Spanish and Arab immigrants shaped actual city, and how the Dominican Republic and neighboring Haiti have developed a rich business exchange. Walk through Little Haiti and discover the scenic tiny companies that sell Haitian products. Local markets are packed with fruits, vegetables, grains, and spices, and are a lively array of colors and flavors. Learn about Dominican cuisine's most diverse new fruits and vegetables, and local popular religion or Dominican Vodoo. Here we're going to visit Chinatown and attempt some sweet Chinese refreshments that local people enjoy.

Just finished a pleasant morning walking tour with Luis. He was engaging, knowledgeable and excellent company. I am a solo traveler and was the only person booked on this weekday tour, he could have easily cancelled but did not. Luis was very comfortable to be with, I felt safe in his presence and he took his time answering questions, never rushing you through the tour . I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants a local's view of the Zona Colonial.

The history of the colonial era is told mostly from a Spanish Latino perspective, dissociating the importance and significant contributions of black-Afro-descendant culture to the Dominican Republic, almost leaving an empty bias on the resistance of the African diasporas on the island. I intend to provide a historical look at what happened during the period of slavery in addition to the current view of the Dominican and its identity or not corresponding to the Afro heritage.

You have to be up by 6:30am for your driver to pick you up from hotel but it is well worth it. Pedro was an awesome driver. Be sure to bring gratuity,it’s the only thing that’s not included as the host (workers) will be taking beautiful pics, selling fresh coconuts n pineapples as well as massages. (They work for small tips) Lunch was good enough for me but I would advise one to eat before leaving. You could ask for as much food as you like when getting the lunch that’s included. Good vibes and great time!!! We will definitely be going back again soon.
