We took a half day tour to El Zunzal and el Tunco from San Salvador. It was a hot day and our only day to visit the beautiful beaches. The walk on the rocky beach was tiring but thankfully inter tours had a really nice hotel with a pool and facilities that we could use, which will be exactly what you need given the beach conditions - rocky and no beds by the beach. The best part about our tour was definetly our guide, Francisco! Very genuine and professional. Would definetly reccommend, thank you Francisco and Dina ????????

Let me start with PLEASE USE EC TOURS especially book Estefany (as your guide) and Alessandro as your driver! My boyfriend and I booked a quick getaway to El Salvador and hoped to make the best of our time there. We wanted to enjoy the beautiful Salvadoran nature as well as history. I messaged EC tours to see if they had a tour that included both nature and history and they did just that while also keeping in adoradable! Estefany was amazing in informing and educating us about all the history of the country as well as making sure we got out the most out of our limited time. We started with a hike to cerro verde which was lovely even for someone as out of shape as me lol amazing views of the three volcanos, we went down la ruta de las Flores, stopped by to enjoy Delicious Salvadoran coffee and then did the termales de Santa Teresa. So much fun, adventure and education. Alessandro made sure we got to our destinations safely. Both he and Estefany were very profesional but also made us laugh and enjoy the time we were together. PleaE book this business if you want to get a fun, information filled and genuine experience of El Salvador.

The Santa Ana volcano is renowned for its scenic beauty, its emerald green lagoon at the crater, and an impresive view of the Izalco volcano. However, if you take the tour with us, we guarantee you an unforgettable experience, we request a special permit to enter the volcano in the early hours and so the volcano is only ours and you can take the best photographs. After the trek we move to the lake of coatepeque to have lunch, and have a relaxing time with the fresh waters of the lake.
Inclusions: Air-conditioned vehicle, Bottled water, Certified Tour Guide , Use of Trekking Poles , Use of First Aid Kit, Private transportation

Francis was early to pick me up at my hotel and very friendly and professional. Once we arrived at the waterfalls he actually hired a local guy who lived there to show us around and give us more details. Francis doesn't need this service but does it to help out his fellow El Salvadorians who would otherwise be out of work. The hot springs were the PERFECT temperature and just like being in a natural hot tub. The trash around the water is horrendous but they're working on finding a solution to this ever worsening problem. Pack it in, pack it out! Next we went for lunch at an amazing artistic cafe where I bought a piece of art because it was so unique and irresistible. Francis is a wonderful guide and now a friend who will do whatever he can to make sure you have a beautiful, comfortable, informative trip in his country. It's also nice to feel comfortable with a guide, when you're a solo female traveler.

We start by visiting Cerro Verde National Park, its a small park located in the middle of a forest on top of an inactive old volcano called Cerro Verde. On a clear day you can see Izalco and Santa Ana Volcano literally in front of you. Visit the Biggest Mayan Pyramid in El Salvador, Tazumal. Learn about Mayan history and culture with your local tourguide. Tazumal was a ceremonial place in the Classical Mayan Period, several burials have been found inside the main pyramid. Some of the artifacts found can be seen in the museum onsite. Then visit Ataco, the biggest and most pintoresque town in the Ruta de Flores, later we taste some of the local coffee. The Ruta de las Flores is famous for its great quality coffee and amazing lush nature. Ataco features its famous murals and many shopping stores.

It can be nerve-wracking booking a guide in another country over the internet, but you can be confident in Fernando! He speaks perfect English, he is punctual, and he has a great sense of humor. He knows all the best spots, and isn’t taking you places just to get a commission, which has been my experience in other places. He genuinely wants to share the best experiences of El Salvador. Everywhere we went, he knew where to get the best burrito, best pupusa, and cheapest beer. He is extremely flexible and patient—you don’t have to follow a set tour. He was always concerned with my safety and comfort. He was a pleasure to spend time with, and enhanced my time in El Salvador. I recommend him to anyone looking to explore this unique country with a local. Gracias Fernando!
El Salvador has a rich Mayan Heritage, 4 main archaeological sites are popular destinations for people interested in Mayan Archaeology. Tazumal is located in Chalchuapa and hosts the biggest pyramid in El Salvador. Casa Blanca is also in Chalchuapa and its where the oldest Mayan artifacts and sacrifices have been found. San Andres was the biggest Adminstration Center in the valley of Zapotitan and Joya de Ceren is unique in the world, it hosts an ancient Mayan Village which was buried and preserved by a nearby Volcanic eruption.
