Popped in here during a overnight stay in Sanquhar. What a wee gem of a place! Warmly welcomed by Alison, who kindly took the time to show us round and introduce us to her animal family - goats, rabbits, guinea pigs, ponies, donkeys.....and more! Great to see how much space the animals have - and nice to get up close to them all. Not a huge farm but big enough to spend an hour or 2. Entry was free - we had hoped to see donation points, however we didn't notice any but were pleased to hand a well deserved donation to Alison. Very glad we stopped by - Alison and her helpers obviously put a lot of work in - and the animals are clearly happy and well cared for. Thank you for showing us round!Fiona & Gerry.x

We visited the Multiverse this week as we were on holiday in the area with our 3 kids (9, 8 & 4) and my Mother, Brother and dog. The staff on site were very friendly and informative when we arrived. For all of us it cost £22 which we thought was reasonable. The staff gave us a map and details behind the site which was all very welcome. The view from the top of the site is fantastic, so remember a camera. For my Mum, who is 69, the walk up to the top was not that strenuous at all. I would recommend boots/wellies though as it was a bit muddy. For our dog it was very safe and she was let loose to roam. We spent about 2 hours on the site. I would definitely recommend the Multiverse. A very different place and really interesting.

A lovely , welcoming shop and cafe , situated near the Tolbooth in the centre of Sanquhar . I don't think we have stayed in a town which has such friendly locals , who have made us feel so much at home . That they did so in these difficult times is to their credit . We had a lovely afternoon tea for two , sat outside in the sun with our dog . The staff went out of their way to cater for our dietary needs ( vegetarian and vegan ) , were attentive and helpful without being obtrusive . Well done to all of them .

This is the oldest post office in the world, situated in quaint little village. Sending a postcard from here is a must do when passing through!
