Highly recommend this trip and Serendipity overall. We booked a 7 day trip for April 2021 and turned out, our trip was during Ramadan and a pretty strict lockdown in Turkey. It was a great trip because the owner, Fazli, is an incredibly gifted guide and wonderful person. He and his driver were great hosts, nice, extremely knowledgeable, gracious, and excellent communicators. It was definitely an unusual time to travel, however, the hospitality from Fazli, all of the hotels, restaurants, sites were beyond our expectations, We saw great sites, including Gallipoli, Canakkale, Troy, Pergamon, Ephesus, Selcuk-Kusadasi,Pamukkale, Konya, Cappadocia and highly recommend traveling with Fazli and Serendipity Travel.

Archaeologically categorised as a site of the Pre-Pottery Neolithic A Period (c. 9600–7300 BC) Göbeklitepe is a series of mainly circular and oval-shaped structures set on the top of a hill. Excavations began in 1995 by Prof. Klaus Schmidt with the help of the German Archeological Institute. There is archelological proof that these installations were not used for domestic use, but predominantly for ritual or religous purposes. Subsequently it became apparent that Gobeklitepe consists of not only one, but many of such stone age temples. Furthermore, both excavations and geo magnetic results revealed that there are at least 20 installations, which in archeological terms can be called a temple. Based on what has been unearthed so far, the pattern principle seems to be that there are two huge monumental pillars in the center of each installation, surrounded by enclosures and walls, featuring more pillars in those set-ups

An excellent private tour by Neon Tours. Our guide, Ozcan (a university professor), was knowledgeable, friendly and engaging. The pacing was perfect and with the tranfers and lunch provided, this really was the best (and most reasonable) way to see the main sights of Istanbul. I followed previous reviewers and declined the visits to the spice and rug shops. Skip the Grand Bazaar (a most disappointing maze of knock-off merchandise) and shop down the local streets which have many charming quality items you actually do want to buy.

We took the Tour in Spanish and all I can say is that it was amazing!!! Ahmet (the guide) is such a respectful, patience, kind and friendly person. He explained very well to us the historical context of all the places. We started around 10 in the morning and finished at 4.30pm. All the places we visited were amazing (pictures are not fair)...we had time to take photos, to go to WC, to have lunch (it’s included in the price)..and just to enjoy the view... I seriously recommend this company and Ahmet!!! Thanks for everything, we had such a great time!!
voicesofmesopotamia South East Turkey is a melting pot of cultures, with influences from resident and neighbouring Arab and Kurdish populations, which both bring with them a wealth of history and tradition. You will meet people from all these rich cultures and the many ways they express and celebrate their identities. Each site we visit has played an important role in shaping the history of Turkey and the wider region. We will explore the history of the many civilisations that have called this place home, and how they all fit together in the long timeline of this area - correctly known as the ‘cradle of civilisation’. Turkey hosts some of the best archaeological sites; all the way from the Neolothic era, to the roman empire, the crusades, and the seljuk and assyrian empires. Many of these sites are little known, which means you have a rare access to immaculate and perfectly preserved locations.
