The name comes from the combination of two of its suburbs, Sandown and Bryanston. In 1969 Sandton was promulgated as a municipality in its own right, but lost its status as an independent town after the re-organisation of South African local governments.

They far exceeded my expectations, wow, wow, wow, I have been to many day spa's but Mowana takes first prize. From the time of booking, to the very friendly welcome. My daughter and I had the luxury of a full day spa. It started with an amazing breakfast, amazing first 2 treatments, then Tea with some very delicious savories & cakes, then the next treatment, to be followed by a very delicious lunch and halfway through the afternoon an amazing high tea. The staff were so friendly, helpful and very professional. By the time we were finished every part of our body was totally pampered and relaxed, in fact so relaxed I had my best nights sleep in a very long time. It was just what this very tired Covid mind needed - safety protocols were outstanding. Well done to the entire team at Mowana - I definitely will be back

I had the most amazing experience at this Spa. Service was brilliant booking was simple and Dylan was very helpful. The Rasul was clean, and lived up to expectation. All round wonderful experience. I also bought the face wash and day cream as advised by Dylan. Will definately be back. Great modern and holistic defenite recommend

I booked one of the spa packages to really spoil myself. The treatments were exactly what I needed to destress. The therapist Sadia was awesome. I would defjnitely visit the spa again. It is attached to the Sandton City mall so its the perfect indulgence after a few hours of shopping.

An all-round pleasant spa experience including lunch with dessert, mud therapy, and a full body massage. Professional staff throughout, and clean attractive facilities with good CoVid safety measures in place.

I was treated to a beautiful full body massage and facial by a lovely, well-trained therapist Mbali. I felt de-stressed and very relaxed after the treatments. I was introduced to the spa manager, Corne who made me feel like the most important guest there. Thank you to both ladies for their excellent service. I look forward to coming back soon!
