Hollywick Farms

Hollywick Farms is a working alpaca farm located at nearly 7,000 feet in the Sandia Mountains, just off the Turquoise Trail National Scenic Byway, a short drive from the majestic Sandia Crest , the Sandia Peak Ski Area, the Tinkertown Museum and the historic mining towns of Golden and Madrid. Get up close and personal with our alpacas and shop for luxurious products made from their fiber.

My friends from Pittsburgh were in town and they were up for a little adventure ~ Bill and Kathy's farm did not disappoint. They were very friendly and knowledgeable, and they were so patient with our barrage of never ending questions. They had a nice little gift shop containing beautiful items made from alpaca fiber. The gloves I purchased came all the way from Peru!

Tinkertown Museum

A "museum" built out of concrete and 55,000 bottles that houses 20,000 handcarved miniatures.

What an amazing museum.... we happened to stop in and have a look on our way home from Sandia Crest Cafe... and it turned out to be the highlight of the day. What an amazing labour of love by Ross over 40 years. Fascinating reflection of entertainment in the turn of the century.. miniature models in such minute detail that there is so much to look at, you don't know what to look at first! The one man band is a beautiful reflection of exquisite craftsmanship that will be lost if not for places like this. Wonderfully preserved by Ross' widow, well worth a stop - we spent nearly an hour wandering through a time capsule of epic proportions.

Paako Ridge Golf Club

Ranked #1 in New Mexico by Golf Digest and consistently rated a top U.S. course by both Golfweek and Golf Digest, this 27-hole championship golf course is nestled in the scenic Sandia Mountains.

Reviewed By travelinNMmom - Santa Fe, United States

You don't have to be a golfer to enjoy PaaKo Ridge Golf Club. The expansive, multi-level patio has sweeping views of the Sandia Mountains and overlooks the 19th green and lake (the course is 18+9, so holes are actually numbered 1-27). The newly-remodeled, stylish clubhouse is simultaneously relaxed and refined. The staff is attentive and friendly, and Chef David Ruiz ("Chopped," "Guy Fieri's Road Trip," and winner "James Beard Foundation" for his blended burger) creates masterful gourmet dishes featuring fresh ingredients and creative blends. The menu is broad, but does incudes a few selections that give a definite nod to Southwest stylings in some unexpected ways. Hint, take a splurge off your diet and order the Iron Skillet Mac & Cheese side (yes, really). The club's wine selection features a very enjoyable variety including some very high end wines. Indoor seating with the same lovely views is also available, and when the weather cools down, I'm looking forward to dinner here while watching the snow fall. The club is just a lovely and relaxing place to enjoy a meal with friends (breakfast, lunch, or dinner). If you're traveling New Mexico's Turquoise Trail Scenic Byway, this would be a wonderful stop (just 2 minutes off the trail). Highly recommend.

Sandia Crest Byway

Reviewed By lawman357kc - Kansas City, United States

We were looking for outdoor spaces to spend our Spring Break vacation in Albuquerque at the cusp of the pandemic time. The Sandia Crest team was closed but we figured there had to be another way to enjoy the mountain. A little research later, while checking trails in Cibola National Forest, we found the Sandia Crest Byway. We'll worth the roadtrip and still able to enjoy a selection of trails on the way back.

Sandia Crest House Gift Shop

Reviewed By 565marcush - Los Alamos, United States

My son and I visited Sandia Crest House and had a wonderful time. The views are the best in all of New Mexico. Just a fantastic experience! Definitely will return. The Crest House had brand new windows installed and while eating a great Green Chili Cheeseburger we enjoyed the magnificent views. We both bought sweatshirts in the giftshop since it was fairly cold outside. Overall would recommend to everyone.
