I was here at the end of December, just at the moment of the first very sunny day. It was SO good to walk around and see people on the streets, in the park, enjoying the weather in this beautiful park and city. Totally recommended.

Sandanski has occurred and developed on the ruins of the Early Byzantine town. Remains of four Episcopal basilicas were found in Sandanski. The central Episcopal basilica dates back to the period of the 5th - 6th century AD and impresses visitors with its unique mosaics. The archaeological museum of the town was built on the foundations of the basilica of bishop Yoan.
This is a good example of documenting a spy life style two millenniums ago. It is good to be seen quite knowledgeable, and in fact very easy to compare with current spa life style of a public spa center in Sandanski which is just opposite of the archaeological site.
