San Pedro is "La Isla Bonita" that Madonna made famous. Now it's a tourist mecca, but still boasts great beaches and plenty of dive shops so you can enjoy the sun, sand, and sea. Plan a side trip to Caye Caulker while you're here; it is less developed and more laid back, and has its own splendid swimming areas.

Belizean Melody Art Gallery was founded in 2008 by Melody Sanchez Wolfe a native of Ambergris Caye. It's a small art Gallery with original art work by various local artists and locally made crafts. Everything is made in Belize and unique. Melody the owner also does paint parties for adults and children you can come into the gallery and paint at the "paint bar" by appointments or join her at every Thursday at 2p.m at Crazy Canuck's. Come into the Gallery and custom order Christmas oranments, paintings, mugs, pillow cases and much more.
Melody goes over and above on the island to provide a great experience for both visitors and those that live here. She creates wonderful art and has weekly classes where you can even take home a little piece of Belize that you paint yourself. She is kind, warm, welcoming, and will create and provide a wonderful Belize experience that I highly recommend!! Many people look for and ask for an authentic Belize experience when they come to Ambergris Caye and this is a prime example of the kind of activity that will make you love your time here!

We just moved to our new location, sharing space with Georgie's Crust & Crumbs Pie Shop. Now located 2 1/2 blocks North of the 'roundabout' on the way to the bridge. We have the largest selection of Belizean Art in the country, with over 2500 Belize-made paintings, hundreds Belize-made Masks & Carvings. We also have the largest selection of the finest hammocks and blankets, and now Gourmet Pies and Breads.
The Gallery, and the owner, Jerry, is great. My favorite place to look for and buy gifts and prints etc for home. Jerry has made several giclees for me and I love them. I bring my guests there too and they always end up buying from The Gallery as well! AND, the pie shop with on the spot baking is fabulous!! Great store!!

Belizean Arts Gallery was founded over 30 years ago by an artist. The store which is located deep in Fido's Courtyard features a diverse collection of original paintings by leading artists together with artesano jewelry in gold and silver, wood and slate carvings, ceramics, Garifuna drums, Mayan masks, fabrics and much more. Open daily until late. Paintings can be rolled for traveling or shipped.
This was such a fun place to look around. We ended up buying a painting by Nelson Young who lives on Caye Caulker, but he doesn't paint anymore. They have a bunch of cool paintings and they roll them up for you, so you can travel with them. They are packed up really well in PCV pipe and no issues with customs, etc. They also have jewelry, wood carvings, etc. Make sure you check them out on Front Street while you are in Belize.

A 2000 year old Mayan Archaeological Reserve. A jungle experience while touring this almost "virgin" site. No temples here. But the recent clearing of the house sites will give you a sense of the life of the Maya Traders.
Small village with some foundations. Lots of pottery pieces. No one there while we were there, but gate was open. We enjoyed ourselves. We had lots of big spray and went early morning. This is in early excavation. Hopefully they will be able to continue.
