What to do and see in San Nicolás, Capital Federal District: The Best Specialty Museums

August 6, 2021 Elouise Mccaul

The birthplace of the tango is, like the dance itself, captivating, seductive and bustling with excited energy. Atmospheric old neighborhoods are rife with romantic restaurants and thumping nightlife, and Buenos Aires' European heritage is evident in its architecture, boulevards and parks. Cafe Tortoni, the city's oldest bar, will transport you back to 1858, and the spectacular Teatro Colon impresses just as it did in 1908. Latin America's shopping capital offers the promise of premium retail therapy along its grand, wide boulevards.

Jewish Museum of Buenos Aires

Reviewed By bettyp310 - San Miguel de Tucuman, Argentina

The museum was opened almost 5 decades ago and belongs to the Israelite Congregation of the Argentinian Republic (the first Jewish institution in Argentina). It takes the name of Salvador Kibrik, the precursor of the foundation of the museum. Among its rich collection are Torah scrolls, Jewish ritual objects, books about religion, paintings, mezuzats, coins, costumes worn on the day of the circumcision and many more worthwhile admiring objects. It provides a lot of information about Jewish immigration to our country. The information is in Spanish and English. Many, many interesting things to discover. Make sure to allot enough time. With its clear objective of collectively building the memory and identity of the Jews, this museum is worth being visited since as a plus, one has access to the first synagogue that Argentina had. Do not miss Sabah's table! On Libertad Street Not to be confused with the Holocaust Museum.

Museo Beatle

I didn't know there's a Beatles Museum in Buenos Aires, found it accidentally when trying to escape the rain. Having seen the original Beatles experience in Liverpool, I was quite impressed by the amount of exhibits here. If you like the Beatles, this place is a must see. Most explanations and signs in Spanish.
