Rio Seco Winery

Carol was the sweetest lady, we talked not only about her wines ????, but about the love of baseball ⚾️. Carol and her late husband know my brother (baseball scout). Before we left she handed me a bag to go get any veggies I wanted from her garden! ????????????, squash, zucchini. I will definitely be thinking of her while I’m using them in my meals. I can’t wait to go back and visit her and her winery. Salute ????⚾️

This interesting gallery has something for everyone and is a great asset to the local community by allowing local artists to work in front of clients, and it also has class space for local adults and children to develop their interests and talents. After a wonderful dinner on the square, we walked the perimeter streets and enjoyed our visit, buying a little something to voice our support for the local artists. Car art is a 1950-1953 Hudson, like the ones our family owned in those years! :-)

Parrish Family Vineyard

The Parrish Family's roots run deep in the Paso Robles & Atascadero area. In 1927, the Parrish and Henderson families settled here and planted 720 acres of varietals. Earl Henderson was one of the founding fathers of Atascadero and in turn, received P.O. Box 1, the first P.O. Box in Atascadero. As an homage to the Parrish's grandfather, Earl Henderson, we have attributed one of our labels, P.O. Box 1, in honor of him. The Parrish family has a deep attachment to tradition and the love for the Paso Robles area which provides us the opportunity to carry on the legacy of producing amazing wines. We strive for excellence in both our wine making process and our vineyard operations. Notes for Visit: Please no smoking and no outside food. Thank you for your understanding and we do have food onsite! We welcome supervised dogs and children. We offer non alcoholic beverages as well.

Since there are no restaurants out along the wine train, do plan a day of wine tasting to include lunch at Parrish. We love the atmosphere, people, wines, and food here.

What a great place to experience wine tasting w/small bites food pairings! One of the good things coming out of the pandemic is the smaller number of people at one time at the wineries (meaning you need to make reservations), and a more relaxed and enjoyable wine tasting. This is the perfect place - gorgeous hilltop location, delicious food, great wine, friendly & knowledgeable staff. Definitely a must visit!

This mission was founded among the Salinas Indians, who inhabited the area in the 1700's.

I had actually gone to see the San Miguel Cemetery, but realized that right across the highway there was more of the town of San Miguel. This was a beautiful mission and it was a great place for taking photos. You are free to wander arouond on your own, but they do have self-guided tours, as well as paid tours. There are brick ovens, an olive press, old wagons, a fountain and plenty of beautiful arches. They also have a nice gift shop. I actually made some purchases there. It was a gorgeous day when i went and the blue, California skies made a great backdrop for my photos.

What an amazing wine tasting experience at Tobin James! First, I was surprised at a review that said that the winery was not COVID safe. That could not be further from the truth. When we arrived for our reservation, all staff members were wearing masks, our temperatures were taken before we were allowed in, and we were told to please wear a mask until we got to our tasting station. The tasting stations were well distanced along a stretch of long tables. What made this winery the absolute best for tasting during this COVID period is that each tasting area had a staff member that poured whatever wine you wanted from the Tobin James portfolio! Every other tasting we did at other wineries in the area that day only offered flights with limited staff interaction and sometimes long waits between flights. The pours were usually not very generous and because of limited staff, re-pours were difficult. At Tobin James, if you wanted more of what you especially liked, your server was right there and more than happy to do so...thank you Kaye! The wines at Tobin James were outstanding with a good range of different varietals at different price points. I found other wineries had increased their prices substantially from what I remember, so that was somewhat disappointing, and really can limit your wine purchases, especially if you are on a tighter budget. Their Wine Club is really different as well and a real bargain for the quality of wines offered, Thanks again Tobin James for a wonder wine experience and please thank Kaye for us!

Eberle Winery

Eberle Winery is a family-owned producer and marketer of premium wines, representing the Eberle Estate, single varieties and designated vineyards. Eberle wines have showcased the history and diverse flavors of the Paso Robles Appellation since 1979. Gary launched his career as a winemaker and as the “Pioneer” of Paso Robles Wine Region by helping to establish his family's Estrella River Winery & Vineyards. In the late 70’s, he decided to pursue his own project and acquired nearly 64 acres just down the road from Estrella River Winery. Shortly thereafter, Gary released his first Eberle wine, the 1979 Cabernet Sauvignon debuting the iconic boar logo, depicting the German origin of the name Eberle, meaning “small boar.” Reservations are now required to visit and can be made online or by calling us. We have changed up a few things so that we can provide a welcoming and safe environment for wine tasting and bottle service. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Highly recommend visiting this winery! We visited on a cool rainy day and since sitting outside was not an option, they had opened up the wine making room for seated tastings. Our server, Kirk, was a delight. He not only educated us on Eberle wines, but entertained us with some jokes. The wines here were very tasty. We particularly liked the Full Boar Red - especially for the price. The Zin & Cab were quite nice also. Worth a stop while visiting Paso Robles!

Delightful winery! We had an excellent experience at Adelaida. Penny was our server and she was very knowledgeable and friendly. It is a server yourself at your own pace tasting experience. All the wines are brought out at the same time in small pitchers for you to pour at your leisure. Made for a nice relaxing afternoon. We sat out on the porch and had some beautiful views. We thoroughly enjoyed the wines, especially their Syrah & Cab. Penny checked in with us and gave us notes on the wines & also the surrounding area, since we did not know much about the Paso area. Definitely a must visit when in Paso!

If you like Rhone varietals, this is the winery you should try first. They are responsible for bringing several of the grape varietals to Paso, and they produce an incredible assortment of both common and unusual Rhone wines. They partner with a chateau in Chateauneuf du Pape, and their wines are reasonably priced. We were so impressed that we joined their wine club -- the only club we joined on our 3 day trip to Paso.
