Samara Literary Museum named after famous soviet writer Maxim Gorky is located on the territory of downtown estate built in the second part of the 19th century. It was founded in 1983 on the occasion of 100th anniversary of the birth of Aleksey Nikolayevich Tolstoy, another well-known soviet author, who lived in this estate from 1989 to 1901.
