Edelweissspitze

Reviewed By Pamandfamtravels - Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic

A beautiful day makes this a place of unmatched, panoramic views of the Alps! Some in our group wondered if we wanted to invest the time in this journey on the Grossglockner High Alps road. This extra high vantage point was a real plus to an already amazing drive!! It takes some driving skills to manage the grade and the hairpin turns, but getting out on "terra firma" and having shopping, food and drink, plus restrooms all available - excellent! It's also fun to see the bicyclists, motorcyclists, sports cars and their drivers enjoying the great views!!

Sriegl is the #1 brand of beer in Salzburg, we visited Salzburg many time, while failing to visit the brewery, this time it was at the top of the list. Easy walk from the bus, we just did a tasting in the beer hall, beautiful spaces, decorated for Christmas this time of year! Helpful waitstaff, god beer, lots of fun! Highly recommended!

Winter closure - re-opening May 2021! Liechtenstein Gorge is certainly one of the longest, deepest, and most impressive gorges in the Alps. The mighty thunder of the waterfall, the moss-grown rocks in rich green, a legendary atmosphere, and sun rays that create a rainbow in the fine water mist. The unique natural spectacle in the Salzburger Land is known for an unforgettable trip of a special kind - an experience for the whole family. Over thousands of years, the thundering water falls and the rushing masses of water have cut more and more deeply into the mountain and have created a gorge. The rocks stand so narrow and high in places that only a small strip of the sky remains visible.

During our Salzburg vacation we came across this gorge as a highly recommended place to visit and it's definitely worth your time. The way through the gorge is newly renovated and really nicely made, you get plenty of awesome views. The only minus is the amount of people. We came there early, shortly after opening. But when we reached the end and had to return the same way back, we had to pass a lot of people; of course many of them didn't wear masks though they are mandatory. I also didn't enjoy wearing them but try to stick to the rules. But either way, if you can, it's a great place to see.

Salzburg has so many great features. This includes a mountain the is directly in the middle of the city on the North and East side of the Salzach River. We climbed the mountain for the incredible views it had of the city and fortress. There are so many things to do in Salzburg, but do not miss the views from this mountain top.

Sommerrodelbahn Keltenblitz

The panorama of the Zinkenkogel is impressive - nowhere else you have such a beautiful view of the city of Salzburg, Untersberg, Dachstein and Co. Summer: The Keltenblitz with its 2.2 km of fun and excitement is Salzburg's longest and probably most spectacular toboggan run - a great destination for the whole family! Whether you are taking a leisurely ride up the mountain with the double chairlift or a hike from the parking lot of the Zinkenlifte with your loved ones past old tunnels, rejuvenation points and marvelous views - no matter – atop the Zinken a magnificent view over the Salzachtal with the old town of Hallein awaits you. Winter: The Zinkenlifte Hallein / Bad Dürrnberg present themselves in winter as a small ski area with a large offer for families away from ski masses - small but nice. Even children and snow lovers will get their money's worth! In the Zinki children ski area, the little ones can practice their first swings or let off steam while snowtubing.

it was such a short visit for us, more like a stop over just to see the statue of Mozart in the middle of the plaza. Quiet, lovely town, how I wish we could stay a few days!!! Nevertheless, with that short visit, we made up our minds to come back and spend a few days in this town. Planning already!!!
