this is what a bookstore should look like. Cozy. Small rooms, very well organized. Wide variety of subjects including classics or older published works (all new) Other well chosen gifts scattered throughout as well as antiques, small desks, chairs, etc. Very clean. Neat bathroom---especially the ceiling. Children's room with tree house. Lots of book posters. Frequent author signings. Just perfect. A place to browse and to find something wonderful to read.

Sad that I cood not buy more books! not easy to travel with them. But this well located old and new bookstore has a good selection specially regarded Idaho and the Mormon Church. This city is very impressive and the churches are difficult to describe! So you really want to know more about the history of everything that surrounds you, This is why I visited Mr. Sanders, the nicest person I ever met. He knew everything and made me buy six out of print and very old books. Hope to get there again because of all I learned from him. Also Esther, his secretary was very nice. But the books bought are beautifull with excellent leather bindings and reasonably priced! Have to return!

Harmons City Creek

Now THIS is a destination store, one we were delighted to find on a recent stopover in Salt Lake City. My girlfriend and I categorize this market as a “food Disneyland” (yes, we’re grocery store nerds), and was it ever chock-full of food and fun! First, it’s enormous: two stories, with the grocery store below, and a cafe, post office, bakery, and gelato bar above. It’s beautifully laid out, and there is a wonderful variety of everything you can imagine. They don’t have as much organic and ethically sourced items as we’re used to in our hometown store (PCC, in the Seattle area), but let me share the top favorite things about the store’s offerings: Absolutely delicious pizza, with a pastry-like soft, puffy crust (the margherita with balsamic drizzle is outrageously good!) A massive selection of international chocolates, the likes of which will dazzle any chocolate lover Grass-fed burgers and hand-cut fries at the cafe. The burger was one of the best I’ve ever had, which is saying a lot! Crazy yummy gelato (get a large with two flavors ... you’ll want that much to savor it!) A honey dispensary you can fill your own bottle with and get only the amount you want. Pretty cool! An artisan bakery with the softest, most delicious organic-flour ciabatta sandwich rolls you’ll ever have. It sounds crazy, I know, but we would go back to SLC in large part because Harmon’s is there, not to mention it’s a beautiful city that’s very visitor friendly!
