If you saw Chevy Chase's masterpiece European Vacation, you'll recognize Stonehenge's massive formation. (As a citizen of the world, you should recognize Stonehenge anyway.) The prehistoric stone circle is eight miles from Salisbury, and its visitors provide a boost to the local economy. With a history dating back over 5,000 years, there is no shortage of significant places to visit in and around Salisbury. On the "must see" list are Salisbury Cathedral, Longleat and Stourhead gardens (and Stonehenge, of course).

Whether you're a serious aviation enthusiast or a kid who wants to sit in fast jet cockpits, this is for you! Please note - We are at Old Sarum Airfield - NOT at the Boscombe Down airfield.
What a fantastic place to get up close to a large part of Britain’s military aviation history Most of the cockpits are open and you are allowed to climb inside and use the controls The staff are very friendly and informative with anything you may want to know Recommended for kids of all ages(I’m 59) If you’re near Salisbury this is a must!

I would highly recommend a visit to Hingstons of Wilton Antiques if you travel anywhere near Salisbury. The antique shop showcases an excellent range of furniture of superb quality from all periods. Their restoration work is unsurpassed. Nick, the Chairman, was a pleasure to work with in every regard - professional, highly knowledgeable, and trustworthy,. He made shipping arrangements expeditiously for the furniture I purchased, and he made several inquiries so that a reasonable quote was obtained. I would highly recommend a visit to Hingstons of Wilton Antiques. Your visit will be well worth your time.

We are all about authentic North Indian food, always made using only the traditional techniques found inside the kitchens of North Indian families. I can't speak highly enough of this experience. Surinder and Safia are both so very passionate about the origins of their food and methods. With so many stories to listen to, you come away feeling privileged to have been invited into a special world. I spent a wonderful half day enjoying their workshop and came away with a bounty of goodies which we had made. All of it tasted amazing, so fresh, complex and rich in flavour. I thoroughly recommend Pure Punjabi and for those who can't get to their gorgeous home, the cook-a-long workshops on Zoom are just as much fun, informative and tasty.

Experience the escape rooms on Castle Street, Salisbury. This five-star rated Salisbury escape room sees you and your team of 2 - 6 at Station Athena, an abandoned research station once home to the Respect Foundation. You have been sent in to discover what happened to the scientists working there as they have mysteriously disappeared. 'Spectre' is story driven, immersive, with hand crafted puzzles and special effects. Get together with friends, family or work colleagues, look for clues, solve the puzzles and try to escape the room in 60 minutes. If you're celebrating an occasion, do let us know as we like to make your experience extra special. Escape rooms are great for team building too. Spectre can form part of a whole or half day of activities for up to 40 people.
We went to Live Escape for a family treat on Father's Day (3 adults and a 13yr old). Everyone enjoyed working together to crack the clues and solve the puzzles and we made it out in under 47 minutes - a real sense of achievement all round! Great customer service too. Thank you for a fun start to our Father's Day celebrations!

Brewery tap room serving around 10 fresh beers for drink in or take away
Sadly with Covid they can’t do a tap room but they do have a wide range of interesting beers to take away and it makes a good stop if you are also visiting the next door aviation centre. Looking forward to trying our purchases soon.

I visited, oooh, ten or so times when I was working in the area in Jan and Feb 2020 - a very friendly Pub with good likeable staff - apart from the inevitable 'Spoons' the cheapest beer in Town and cheapest doesn't mean poor either, in fact the opposite - a great place to stop for one or two 'Sherbet's' while on the way to the Station. Need I say any more.......

Prepare to be amazed by one of the finest cathedrals in the UK, home to Britain’s tallest spire and largest cathedral close and cloisters. Our original 1215 Magna Carta is the best-preserved copy in existence and our 14th century clock is the oldest working mechanical clock in the world. We suggest 1.5 – 3 hours for your visit, but you can see most highlights in 45 minutes if you are pressed for time. You can enjoy delicious snacks and meals prepared freshly on-site in our Refectory Restaurant and browse our unique range of souvenirs in our Gift Shop. 10-minute walk from Salisbury Train Station | 20-minute drive from Stonehenge| 1.5 hours from London. Tickets must be booked online. There is no charge, but please support our work by giving a donation.
What a great day out! I went mainly to see the Magna Carta but was surprised to discover a fantastic art and sculpture collection. The highlights for me being a sculpture by Anthony Gormley, the amazing font and a magnificent tapestry by Grayson Perry, the worlds oldest working clock and of course the Magna Carta. All the staff inside the Cathedral were helpful and friendly but Rob stood out as a fantastic curator. Thanks Rob for taking us back into the Cathedral to view the rear of the tapestry which we hadn't spotted. Oh and of course its a beautiful cathedral.....
