The landing is still my favorite place for a Saturday or Sunday breakfast of pancakes or an Egg O’Hara, a fried egg with cheese sausage, etc on an English Muffin. The tables look like they did in the 1950s. I know; I was there then. You can also rent boats or just watch the activity on one of the most beautiful lakes in the region. Say hello to Mary behind the counter.

This hike is a great little one and my favorite around! You can just hike up to lions head and turn around or continue on the AT, which runs through this, to make you to Bear Mt. and Sages Ravine. Great spot!

Salisbury Winter Sports Association (SWSA) is best known for its annual Jumpfest ski jumping competitions, usually held the first weekend in February. These include the Eastern Nationals, target jumping under the lights, junior jumping, the Human Dogsled Race, ice carving, the Snow Ball, and others. Other events during the year include a skijumping camp for young people, ski/skate swap/shop (first Saturday each December), Brew-Ski, and other community events. Jumpfest is also the centerpiece of the Jumpfest Winter Festival, an area-wide celebration leading up to an including Jumpfest weekend.

Very well-marked trails. I went counter-clockwise so had to go up the steeps near the top. Which was better than going down them. The view from atop the rock pile at the top was great, had it not been there the views would be underwhelming. I left early to beat the crowds and seemed to be the right call as to when I got back to the lot cars were lined down the street. Rocky, rooty, and steep in some sections. It was also VERY dry almost no running water.
