Lovely little park, busy with dog walkers and families with children. Just how it should be. Plenty of picnic areas with seating, lovely bowling green, outdoor exercise equipment. Only minor issue is if it’s been raining heavily, pathways get completely flooded. I was past my ankles in water during the last heavy rainfall. All in all, a lovely park which I frequent regularly.

The Japanese Garden is my favourite part of the garden...quiet, peaceful with beautiful trees all well cared for...each area gives you joy and harmony...the beautiful mature trees surrounding the labyrinth give you a place to sit and unwind... in the spring you can see hosts of daffodils...its well respected by all visitors...

Great lively local pub with a large selection of beers and wines from around the world. Live music most of the Fridays with DJ playing every last Friday of the month. Juke box, pool table and darts available. Chill out area with soft seating as well as large patio beer garden at the rear and front beer garden.

Walton park is a great relaxing area with ample space for a dog walk with the canal walk nearby for a stroll. The model train collection and the track run by volunteers is a great treat for small children and parents. The facilities for sports and kids amenities are also good.

We had booked dinner at 7.30 and decided to try num6er as we were intrigued by the gin menu, I called to see if we could reserve a table and was pleasantly informed we could. Our table was ready when we arrived which was good as the place was full which was a very good sign, we decided to try the gin and prosecco I went for bubblegum my partner opting for parma violet, we enjoyed our drinks as the place was full we were sat close to a mother and daughter who we got talking to and had a pleasant hour talking and drinking. Will definitely pop in again want to try the whiskey next definitely what Sale needed and a nice little start before either dining in Sale or going further into Manchester.

Staff are so friendly. We were in a big group and Mike served us at the table ( such a gent and a real professional) . We had a great night and will definitely return. The range of gins is fabulous and the garnishes were perfect - so much better than the bar next door ‘number 6’ where we were given ‘ ice and a slice’. We will now be having our Christmas works doo here as so close to the met and a great atmosphere with friendly locals.

I visited the park yesterday very impressed but more impressed with quality and service of the cafe , due to the new covid restriction it will only be a take away service but there were plenty of seating areas outside . What more could you ask for a bacon balm and hot chocolate after brisk walk

We went on Sunday for lunch, and for the first time since it reopened after lockdown. Once you've signed in, it's all perfectly normal, you feel at ease and the staff are friendly. At no stage did it feel like anything but a great pub experience, and for that the staff have to be applauded. The Sunday lunch was great too, excellent value at just under £10, with the option of extras like pigs in blankets and cauliflower cheese. (The only thing I'd have liked would have been the option to have a selection of two meats for a little extra, but that's just me!). So if you're looking for somewhere comfortable in these strange times, Jacksons Boat ticks all the boxes, and we'll be back soon.
