Microbrewery in the heart of Salado, Texas. Brewing craft beer since 2016. The taproom and biergarten are open Wednesday-Sunday with food trucks on site. Come drink like a local!
Even though activities are scaled back due to COVID, KD and staff are keeping the brewery the best place to relax and enjoy some down-time in Salado. You can also walk across the street to Rio Salado for delicious Mexican food and a margarita if the Happy Pizza truck is not what you want. Beautiful access to Salado Creek and delicious coffee at Longbow. Very family and dog friendly!

I stopped by this park while I was in town for business. It has a nice nature trail and the waterfall is pretty. The hike to the waterfall is not very difficult. Lots of trails to explore. Very peaceful.

Cool candy store! We saw the sign on I-35 as we were passing through so we stopped in. My 6 yr old enjoyed picking out some things. He ended up getting some royal blue M&M’s, skittles, and laffy taffy. I got me some dark chocolate coffee beans (so good to eat 1 or 2 with my morning coffee). My husband got a big Reese’s chocolate. Very cool place! Glad we saw the sign and stopped.

I love stumbling upon unexpected art displays. From the gas station across the street, I noticed a sign on a post that said Sculpture Garden. Quirky and enchanting, there are a dozen or so sculptures in a seemingly random pattern placed is a pint sized park. Very peaceful and cool, along a stream bed, you wander through hoping to discover a sign or statement describing the pieces. Some are marked, some are not, adding to the mystery of their existence. I loved it! A short and sweet detour.
