Rotherham /ˈrɒðrəm, -ðərəm/ ( listen) is a large town in South Yorkshire, England, which together with its conurbation and outlying settlements to the north, south and south-east forms the Metropolitan Borough of Rotherham, with a recorded population of 257,280 in the 2011 census. Historically in the West Riding of Yorkshire, its central area is on the banks of the River Don below its confluence with the Rother on the traditional road between Sheffield and Doncaster. Situated in sixteen acres of historic walled and landscaped gardens, Wentworth Garden Centre is arguably the biggest and most attractive centre in the North Midlands. Its setting, in the former Kitchen, Italian and Japanese gardens of Wentworth Woodhouse is unique. We are not a member of any buying group or garden centre chain. We are a long standing, family owned independent and as such care passionately about our customers and their satisfaction. It's a policy that has seen the centre evolve from a tiny village operation into one of the largest garden centres in Yorkshire today.
Wow what an amazing garden centre- the planted area had variety and was well stocked - the shop was amazing with great gifts os all types - the food area was simply stunning - throughout the whole garden centre the staff couldn’t be more helpful- a great experience for our first visit and will defo come back again

COVID-19 Update Following the Government's Coronavirus recovery road map announcement on 22nd February, we are working hard to establish what this means for Wentworth Woodhouse. The Government guidance allows for people to access their local Heritage Gardens for daily exercise with people from their household or support bubble. We ask all visitors to follow these restrictions when making decisions about travelling. The House remains closed until further notice. Thank you for your continued support at this challenging time. Opening The Gardens are currently open Wednesday to Sunday 10am - 4pm daily for local supporters to exercise within our beautiful snowdrop gardens extending to over 50 acres. There are toilets located around the garden with full hand washing facilities, as well as additional hand sanitiser stations. The Gardens Kiosk will be also be open Wed to Sun 10am - 4pm daily offering gorab-and-g food and drinks. Whilst the East Front Kiosk will be open Fri to Sun 10am - 4pm
Our visit to this stately home was the highlight of our holiday in North Yorkshire. Underneath the scaffolding there was much to see, with the helpful commentary of an excellent guide. We did the Wentworth and Garden Tour which took about 2 1/2 hours - the beautiful weather set the gardens off well and we would highly recommend those interested in historic architecture to pay a visit.

Rother Valley Country Park consists of 750 acres of parkland. It includes areas of open water, grassland, woodland as well as footpaths, bridleways and cycle routes. A haven for wildlife, as well as a centre of excellence for education, water sports and other outdoor pursuits.
Visited with my partner, my son (13) and my partner’s son (7) for an hour just to see what it was like. It was a lovely warm day and were amazed at how popular it was. There were so many activities including jet skiing, inflatables in the lake etc. There were families having bbqs - just a real nice atmosphere. We decided to hire some bikes to ride around the lake and we had great fun! Will definitely return for a full day. Parking is £5 There is a cafe and restaurant onsite and plenty of ice cream vans!

The first time we went we saw a Heron and haven't been back for a long time. Yesterday we decided to visit again. The carpark pay and display had changed , you had to phone a number by mobile phone and pay that way. We asked at the sailing club and was able to pay there and get our ticket . It was £1.00 We walked along the path to the right, but before we came to the road, we turned back and walked back again. Our dogs enjoyed it and I we saw the Heron again, this time over the other side of the water towards the bottom right side . Well worth a visit.

A delightful place to be at one with nature had a sandwich and a coffee overlooking the lake watching the swans and other wildlife. The cafe is doing takeaways.
