Miller's Land of Waterfall Tours

I will get you to beautiful private or remote public waterfalls away from the crowded tourist areas. No long or hard hikes on my normal tour but harder hikes are available. Ideal for seniors and families with children. Great for photography. I know the lighting at each waterfall. I've been to over 170 waterfalls in this area. Located 30 minutes from Asheville, NC and 5 minutes from Brevard, NC. I will meet you at a convenient location based on where you are staying or driving from.

Forks of the River Taproom

The Forks of the River Taproom celebrates the birthplace of the French Broad River, and the quality of water we all enjoy. We dedicate 5 taps to our breweries with-in our watershed that makes beer from these pristine mountain waters. We are here because of the water and so is the beer. We also have a great selection of domestic and craft beer to go.

Courthouse Falls

They are a short walk from the road. Gets a little steep on the second half of the hike, but we did it with a 10 and 13 year old and I’m out of shape. Wish we had brought water shoes and swimming suits. Looked like a great place to swim. Make sure you look at directions from one of the previous reviews. Don’t get discouraged by one lane dirt road. It’s bumpy but falls are worth it. We did it in a mini van.

They redid this facility, and it is really nice. The highest point in South Carolina. Nice viewing platform, and on a clear day you can see North Carolina, Georgia, and South Carolina. Can park pretty close to the viewing area.

Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute

Our family traveled 2 days from the northeast specifically to experience the Ecilpse at PARI. As a parent, educator and hard working fundraiser, I can appreciate PARI obviously had to repurpose some areas to accommodate the multitude of visitors, displays and simultaneous presentations. Educators do this regularly. Sponsoring an event like the Eclipse is exactly why fundraising is necessary for non-profit organizations. This historical facility is 56 years old & new construction clearly indicates progress & forward thinking management. Kudos to PARI for doing the impossible - managing to feed, accommodate & educate over 1,000 of excited visitors! We have traveled all over this country to special events. The Eclipse event at PARI was by far the most memorable! Our son has Autism, so we never know how he is going to react in any given situation. PARI's staff and the planning that went into this event made his day and ours beyond wonderful! Witnessing an eclipse is an exciting experience no matter where you are, but PARI went all out to make it truly memorable! Parking, transportation, food trucks, comfort stations, educational booklets, exhibits, presentations & ECLIPSE memorabilia - all well planned & perfect! I can't imagine the coordination this effort took, not knowing if the weather would cooperate. Panoramic views of the Blue Ridge Mts. and the history and beauty of PARI alone are worth the trip. We've planned another trip to PARI in June. This time we are staying a week to enjoy hiking, a SkyTrek Dinner with nighttime star gazing and the Brevard-Hendersonville area. Bravo PARI for everything you do to honor NASA, share your history, telescopes & treasures and especially educate students & visitors about our facinating universe!
