The Nassau County Museum of Art (NCMA) is located 20 miles east of New York City on the former Frick Estate, Clayton, a 145-acre property in Roslyn Harbor in the heart of Long Island’s Gold Coast. The museum's Mansion, named in honor of art collectors and philanthropists Arnold A. Saltzman and his wife Joan, is a three-story Georgian-style mansion that exemplifies Gold Coast architecture of the late 19th century. In addition to the Mansion, NCMA, which receives nearly 200,000 visitors each year, includes The Manes Family Art & Education Center, opened in 2017, as well as a Sculpture Park, a Formal Garden, rare specimen trees and marked walking trails. NCMA annually presents major rotating exhibitions, many of which are original to the museum and are organized by the museum’s own curatorial staff. NCMA's 145 acres hold one of the largest publicly accessible sculpture gardens on the East Coast. Nearly 40 sculptures are sited on the property to interact with the natural environment.
In the Fall Of 2017, I brought and treated my fiancé, Kathy (she’s now my wife) for a visit and self guided tour of the Nassau County Museum Of Art. Both my wife and I entered and toured the main museum building and were deeply mesmerized by the museum’s extensive exhibits and collections, and visually engaging artwork. We also learned that the main museum building was once the home of Child Frick, a prominent member of the Frick family and son of Henry Clay Frick, cofounder or US Steel. In addition to visiting the museum, my wife and I enjoyed sightseeing and taking pictures of the site’s magnificent formal gardens and also viewing the well crafted sculptures of Sculpture Park!!! When staying in Long Island, both Kat and I highly recommend for everyone to visit and explore this absolutely wonderful attraction!!!We very much enjoyed our time and experience at the Nassau County Museum Of Art and so would you!!!

This is an intimate room bringing in big names. They’re playing way above their weight! Seeing some of these musicians in a small venue like this is priceless. Even in the back you’re close and have great views. I didn’t eat so can’t speak to the food, but the total price is worth it for such good seats. (I probably would have consumed more if the service had been more attentive, but that’s NBD; the music is the thing). One thing puzzling: tickets/seats to many shows are sold on “first-come, first-served” no reservations basis, but some who went early found that most seats were indeed reserved/assigned. But I don’t think there’s a bad seat in the house. If there’s a musician you like, this venue is absolutely worth a trip. How they’re not swamped, with the talent they’re getting, is a mystery to me. So many seats so close to the stage is remarkable.
