What to do and see in Ronda, Andalucia: The Best Budget-friendly Things to do

September 28, 2021 Giuseppe Pratt

Ronda’s most striking feature is the Puente Nuevo, which spans a gorge over 300 feet deep. Can you guess when the "new bridge" was built? 1793. That should give visitors an idea of how unchanged Ronda has been over the years. It’s also known as the birthplace of modern bullfighting. The town’s bullfighting ring is only used once a year, at the Feria Goyesca, but it’s also a museum where you can learn about the history of this traditional (yet controversial) sport.

Absolutely unbelievable! Dramatic cliffs and a 120m deep gorge that carries "Río Guadalevin" through its center! The canyon splits the city in two: "La Ciudad" (the Old Town) and "El Mercadillo" (the New Town) - and connecting both "towns", awesome "Puente Nuevo". From the many existing "miradores", unforgettable views and fond memories to take home. You cannot dare to miss it! Enjoy!

Dona Felisa Winery

Bodegas Dona Felisa is a company dedicated to the production and aging of exclusive wines of the highest quality. Our quality is based on a well cared and limited production in the vineyards, giving the wine its "Terroir" taste. The winery Taller Bodegas Dona Felisa is located at a place where you can enjoy what nowadays known as "enological tourism", because it is near the old Roman city of Acinipo. Acinipo, land of wine. Through a controlled process which begins with taking care of the vineyard and ends with the produced wine, we offer our clients a high quality product with a conceptual background and an exclusive design. "Chinchilla", where our winery is located, was famous in Ancient Rome because of its vineyards and wines which were sent to Rome from Malaga's coast. At present our wine is distributed worldwide and it is, very likely, the most international Andalusian red wine.

We had an excellent tour of the winery followed by delicious tapas and wine tasting. The setting is absolutely gorgeous, particularly on a sunny day. If you get the chance to get hold of some petit verdot wine, do so. It is first class.

What a fantastic place to visit. We booked the wine tour and meal and I have to say it was an excellent afternoon. Started with a tour of their vineyards and bodega and Miguel answered our many questions Then we were seated in a beautiful courtyard where Isabel served us our meals. The food was fantastic. Meats, cheese, breads, omelette, paella and dessert. And of course accompanied by some of the nicest wine I have ever tasted. So nice we bought 4 bottles to take home. Isabel and Miguel made us very welcome and fussed over the children Well worth the visit and we will definitely return

I am so glad this was a suggestion to us as it was not well advertised around the town. The whole area is well laid out and clean. The history of the arena, shown through an audio display, is interested and well documented. All of the displays are well written and the audio commentary is timely and well done. This tour can be done at your own leisure and there are spots to sit and relax and experience the atmosphere of the first bull ring in Spain. A fantastic afternoon. The walk along the cliff edge is well worth the effort...... the views are so so stunning.

New Bridge

Reviewed By junkoeatslondon - London, United Kingdom

I think it was such a good decision for me to visit in February. I think what is fun about Ronda is you can roam around and look at this bridge from near far down and on top of it and you will be amazed from every angle???? the almond trees blossoming here and there makes you feel cheerful reminds me of the japanese cherry blossoms (altho I must say they are way better in japan) but just the blooming tree are pretty and makes you feel the early spring breeze. I imagine if I came here in the summer it would have been too hot for me. I'd like to come to malaga every feb ???? Also the random plate with the random japanese guys name on it came across as a surprise
