Romford is a large town in east London, and the administrative centre of the London Borough of Havering. It is located 14.1 miles (22.7 km) northeast of Charing Cross and is one of the major metropolitan centres identified in the London Plan. It was historically a market town in the county of Essex and formed the administrative centre of the liberty of Havering, until it was dissolved in 1892. Good road links and the opening of the railway station in 1839 were key to the development of the town and the economic history of Romford is underpinned by a shift from agriculture to light industry and then to retail and commerce. As part of the suburban growth of London in the 20th century, Romford significantly expanded and increased in population, becoming a municipal borough in 1937 and has formed part of Greater London since 1965. It now forms one of the largest commercial, retail, entertainment and leisure districts outside central London and has a developed night-time economy.

This is our second visit to Brookside in as many months. Not sure how we have missed this theatre for so long but now we are hooked. Super little theatre, great seating, friendly staff. Most importantly we have been impressed with the two productions seen so far, Oliver and The Canterville Ghost. All the cast were brilliant, special mention to the little girl playing the daughter. She will go far! Well done. U

Moby Golf is great for children from about 4 or 5 upwards - as soon as they can hit a golf ball in somewhat the right direction! And for adults too. A great family activity and a brilliant thought-out fun course with water and whale and pirate ship and all sorts! Definitely recommend this place!

We had our wedding right in the heat of the pandemic and had fears that the day would not be what we wanted it to be. Things just kept getting more difficult, restrictions increased and worries were growing. However, Katie and her team at Maylands absolutely blew us away with much supprt and regular assureance. They took care of everything from start to finish. We ended up having a wedding reception for 15, as well as a Zoom broadcast for a portion of the day and it was absolutely perfect. The decorations done by Katie exceeded our vision, the food was great and Katie coordinated the whole day flawlessly. Many thanks to Maylands for making our day extra special!

Went to Romford Dogs for a stag night, and ate in the pavillion restaurant. The starter was a buffet salad bar, with prawns, pate and a wide selection of other good quality dishes. Second course was a choice of pork, beef or turkey carvery with two kinds of potatoes, yorkshire pudding, carrots and green beans. The dessert either cheese and biscuits or gateaux. Really good quality food for all courses and the portion sizes plentiful.

Love going here. Great value for money, friendly. I thought the safety measures put in place made us feel that we could still go out safely. Liam neeson helped! Great job guys.
