Named by American soldiers during the post-World War II occupation years, the Romantic Road is a 200-mile-plus section of one of Germany's most picturesque highways, stretching from Würzburg in Bavaria's north to Füssen near the Austrian border. Along the route are many favorite tourist towns and attractions, including Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Dinkelsbühl, Augsburg, and Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau Castles. Bike tours along the route are quite popular, and bus tours are also available.

Neuschwanstein Castle is wrapped in mystery and beauty. The former dream of the Wittlesbach king, Ludwig II, the castle is not only gorgeous but the perfect place to explore the mystery of Ludwig's untimely demise and begin to learn the Bavarian Beer Culture. After a 'skip the line' entrance into Neuschwanstein castle the your guide will bring you to the village of Murnau where you will visit the Griesbräu brewery for your tour of the brewery given by the brewmeister himself. An obscene amount of sample beers and beer schnapps await along with your very own "Brewery Certificate." Once the brewery tour is concluded we make our way to the Murnau train station for a short train ride back into the city of Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

Wonderful tour by a knowledgeable guide before the castle tour! He had obviously done his research and was able to add more, and more historically accurate, details. Lots of "fun" facts, too (I had no idea what BMW stood for or why the logo looks looks like it does. I do now!). He knows all the best spots for pictures and the best times to get them in before the next tour groups arrive. Skipping the line for the castle tour tickets was a real plus. Highly recommend!

If you ever take the Romantic Road, then a stop in Rothenburg ob der Tauber (meaning ”above the Tauber River”) is a must. Considered by many as the perfect German fairy tale town, this place will make the travellers feel like they live in a medieval theme park. And, because of this, Rothenburg has the strictest conservation orders from all of Germany. As a Free Imperial City from the 13th century onwards, Rothenburg became one of the most important city states of the middle ages. During the 17th century Thirty Years War, the Ex-Mayor Nusch drank 3 litres of wine in a single gulp, the so-called "Master draught", therefore saving the city from destruction. One walk through its old town, with its web of cobbled lanes and the 14th century defensive wall will make everyone understand why this is an unmissable location.
Inclusions: Local Guide who will be with your group only, Private guided Tour, Possible customizing on tour with your local guide on the spot

Our host in Rothenburg organised this tour for us. This is a fantastic introduction to the city in a different and fun and musical way. Amelia (the Lady who conducts the tour) is an amazing individual. She will inspire you, with her music, with her love for the city and with her sense of humour, during this tour. Even at 7 degrees temp, mild rain and a very empty city, Amelia completed the entire tour just the way she does it around the year. She truly is an artist!

We did an excellent tour with our guide Paul. We are glad that we did it. He is an excellent knowledgeable guide, very caring and a lovely person. We visited St. Peter's Church, Platzl an der Orlandostrasse, Bayerische Staatsoper, U-Bahn to Odeonsplatz etc with him. He was very nice to us during our entire visit, patience as a guide should be, explaining history of each place along with some fun. If we ever visit Munich again, we shall hire Paul. Highly recommended.

Amir tells the rich history of ludwig the second and his dream of neuschwanstein. This tour is active and fun for all. He is energetic and clearly nows his stuff. In comparise the actual castle tour by the bavarian government (not given by amir sadly) was pale and short. They should hire him to do it.
