First, let me emphasize that we thoroughly enjoyed the beaches and American cemetery. It was very moving, and if you are familiar with history at all you realize what a sacrifice these men made. The reason for the terrible review was our guide. This man texted while he drove, drank alcohol at 2 different stops, along with the following: 1) There was a couple with us in the van that was sick and I asked the guide if he could open the window so we could get fresh air circulating and not have to breathe the same air that the sick people were. He became very irritated, saying he didn't want the wind blowing on him as he would get sick from that. He then opened it a tiny bit and said we couldn't have the air conditioning on at the same time, so he turned it off until it became unbearable for him. Music was blaring the entire time, without asking us if it was okay to play. He insisted on stopping in Rouen (more beer), even though I said we didn't want to go as it wasn't part of the tour description. He brought his friend along, and they spent the whole time speaking a Slavic language so we could not sleep (it was a 3.5 hour drive from Paris, and 4.5 hours on the way back). He did give some statistics at Point du hoc and Omaha beach, but no commentary at Utah, just dropped us off, and pointed the way to where Joan of Arc was burned at the stake in Rouen, while he had beer with his friend. He also complained that he had to drop us off at our hotel in the heart of Paris which took him 40 minutes longer.

Stephanie worked with us to set up an itinerary that included what we wanted to see but worked within our time constraints. Stephanie was so knowledgeable and easy to travel with it made for a very enjoyable day. I highly recommend this tour if you’d like a taste of the Loire valley and want a little help to make it happen.

Take this tour and explore the island Le Mont-Saint-Michel(a UNESCO Heritage). The island has fortifications since ancient times and since the 8th century AD has been the seat of the monastery. Between the fifth to the eighth century, Mont Saint-Michel belonged to the territory of Neustria and remained unconquered during the Hundred Years' War and the King Louis XI turned it into a prison. The legend says that the archangel Michael appeared in 708 to Aubert of Avranches, the bishop of Avranches, and instructed him to build a church on the rocky island.

I don’t think buying this card did any good for us during our weekend in Paris. It does not give you access to the Eiffel Tower (not even the lousy 1st floor) which is basically the most important symbol of Paris. Also it does not give you Skip the Line right in Versailles which is kind of a big deal since you spend 1 hour waiting in line and only have 2 days to use the card.. it does get you to a faster line in Louvre but it’s the same queue for the people who bought the regular ticket online.. soooo still a big queue. Anyway I think in 2 days you don’t have time to see half of what the card has to offer because 1) there is always a line 2) the monuments are far apart from each other most of the time you can’t walk from one place to the other and have to catch the RER or Metró which makes you waste time in transports. So I recommend you checking for single entrance in each one of the atractions. Pay attention that the Arch de Triumphe has been closing on saturdays due to social movements, this was important and nobody told us that at the ticket office in gare du nord. Actually they didn’t tell us anything useful because the people there don’t speak English and just keep responding to you in French..

After comparing cost benefit of Paris Pass and the Museum Pass against my interests, I finally decided to go with the latter, 4 days I thought it was enough for me. In general, the Museum Pass allowed me easy, fast access to most of the places I visited, perhaps the Louvre access line was the most difficult one. I did not have to follow any line to purchase anything. Besides, the cost of the Pass was lower than if I had purchased the single tickets separately; I just had to purchase a ticket to access the Versalles gardens because the day of my visit they held the so called Singing Fountains Show; I easily did it through the Versalles complex site. As a reference guide, here’s what I visited in these 4 days: Day 1 Sainté-Chapelle (1h) Conciergerie (1h) Pantheon (1h) L’Organgerie (3h) I even attended a football match at Parc des Princes afterwards. Day 2 Versailles complex the whole day Arc des Triumph at night Day 3 Rodin museum (2h30 including lunch) Louvre (as of 14h thru 21h45) Day 4 Picasso Museum (1h30) D’Orsay Museum (4-5 hours) Remarks: Cost of the 4-days Museum Pass: E$62 (Single access fee for the same attractions would cost more) (I saved time needed to purchase tickets through Internet sites, or directly at the attractions’ entrance) Single ticket for the Versalles’ Singing Fountains show: E$9,50 Transportation: I moved by metro and / or bus lines (train to Versailles), sometimes just walking from one attraction to another one. I did not use any taxi or so. Starting time: Everyday for the first attraction, I got there prior to the opening hour to start the visit as soon as they opened. I had no issue with the Museum Pass when I showed it at the entrance / gate of the museums / attractions.

We had planned to get the train to the Disneyland station, but with the strikes, the trains were only running every couple of hours, so we walked back to the coach transfer stop (Terminal 2F) & got a return ticket on this transfer. Great door to door option.. we would have had a 20min walk with our bags otherwise & probably longer if we had not worked out how to walk to the hotel! What you save in time on the train would have more than lost in the walk to the hotel. Best economic option in my opinion.

We were staying in the Relais Spa hotel (Val d'europe) which is stated ON THE TICKET as a drop off point for the magical shuttle. Upon arriving in the maze that is Paris airport we finally found the departure point for the shuttle. The bus turned up on time (good start) HOWEVER what we didn't know was that the bus will actually kick us off outside Disney Land a whole RER train stop and ticket fee away from the nearest station to our hotel which is then another 5 mins walk. Had i known this i would of just got the TGV train in the first place or an UBER. My whole reason for doing this was the simplicity of Airport to Hotel. Because of this confusion i didnt even trust this company to pick me up at the Val d'europe pick up point stated on the ticket and spent £50 on a peaceful UBER instead. My Opinion: DONT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU ARE STAYING IN VAL D'EUROPE HOTELS. It cost me £86 for 2 people return journey and then would've cost me a further £12 in train journeys just to the shuttle pick up spot and hotel which equals... £98. JUST GET TWO PEACEFUL UBERS FOR £50 EACH WAY = £100 TRUST ME.
