This is a great museum and very well curated. It really is two parts. The inside museum which is excellent and the actual outside memorial which is impressive and if you have not been to Kansas City before, the view of the city is great. This is a must see if you visit Kansas City. parking can be a little tough on the loop road in front of the museum, but it is a nice walk if you can't find a spot. Don't miss the café, great food, wonderful personal service

Argosy Casino

I like the decor of this Argosy casino. They did a good job of making the interior look interesting and adding some character to the property. Employees were very friendly and helpful. High Limit area was fairly nice too. Oddly enough, two machines in High Limit could not be played and a third machine froze during gameplay and had to be reset. Casino was not as smoky as most other casinos in the area. I would rate Argosy 3.5 stars if I could but had to round down because of the non-existent drink service.

Parkville Nature Sanctuary

The trails are the best hiking trails in the Kansas City area. Trails are rated easy to moderate with some good hills. The trails are very scenic with sites along trails including streams with waterfalls in a very wooded area. Wildlife includes; numerouse species of birds, white tail deer, turkeys, ground hogs/wood chucks, squirrels, turtles, numerous species of butterflies. The trails are not crowded at all, might be about 10 people on the 3.5 miles of trails at any given time.

We've lived within 30 minutes of Parkville for many years but have never visited. Lovely place! We walked the trails, saw beavers, listened to water trickling, saw the waterfalls, and enjoyed the hike. When you are aware from the ballpark, you only hear the nature. Wonderful views - you are in a forest of tall trees with the occasional reflection bench to sit down. No dogs allowed (glad we left Bandit home). We will definitely return!

KC Streetcar

The streetcar is very handy for getting to sights at the north (the public market) and south (Union Station, WWI museum). And you can't beat the price.
But, it was completely jammed - even at the first stop. We traveled with an elderly aunt, and it was very difficult.

The college arranged for a wine & cheese for our 50th college reunion and it was very nice evening. We had a designated driver so were able to enjoy two classes of wine & some delicious cheeses outside in the patio. Thought the prices were very reasonable. All I can say is my Parkville has changed, but then so had we all.

Cinder Block Brewery

Reviewed By nutsgoalie - Norwich, Connecticut

Stopped by here for drink and were greeted warmly by the bartender. He was quite witty and entertaining, which made it worth the stop to begin with. Decent list of beers and ciders. I went with the kolsch, which wasn't too bad and the cider was good as well. Nice space, decent size, and a guy singing in the corner, made it an overall enjoyable experience. I would stop there again and try out some of their other beers.

Went here to see The Color Purple-The musical. The facility is very nice. The acoustics are good. However, it was a bit tricky to get from the parking garage to our seats but they had guides all along the way directing you. Very nice.

Big Rip Brewing Company

Really loved the beer here last Saturday night. The location makes it challenging in comparison to several other places closer to Armour road. I do intend to look into the "brewbus" which offers transport (for fee) among the breweries...sort of a hassle-free pub crawl. So, the beer here was quite good. Possible improvements: 1) despite being able to order food delivered from a couple places, it would be great to have some food options available, and 2) would be good to be open after 10pm on a Saturday. All this said, I'll likely be back at some point.

Arabia Steamboat Museum

The Arabia Steamboat Museum is a favorite Kansas City attraction, a history museum housing 200 tons of cargo from life on the American frontier in 1856.

Reviewed By Les R - Kansas City, MO

I sometimes find museums a little boring, but I found this museum extremely interesting! Its the cargo from an 1850s steam boat that went down just north of Kansas City in the Missouri river. I was surprised by all the goods from the boat that are so well preserved. It feels like a step back in time. There is also some pieces of the boat itself. The tour guides are very knowledgeable! There is a short film near the beginning. We were amazed that two of the men from the original excavation were on site and made a point of coming by and speaking with us and answering questions. Its obvious they love the project and the museum. We spent just short of two hours here but easily could have stay longer.
